Funny. The CSR I talked to last week didn't know anything about it until he looked it up.

You might want to send an email to the Office of the President of DIRECTV; inkahauts has a link in his signature line to that email address.

I would love to find out how many people watched on TV last year and how many are watching on the app. Also, was it even available on the app last season?

Bummed, It was one of the best features of ST. I watched many games or dvred them. It was an easy way to archive your fav team.

I agree. I still have all of the Short Cut games on my DVR of the entire Packer season from 2013.
This summer I ran the entire season non-stop one day when my dad (also a Packer fan but lives in Arizona) was visiting. Took about 8 hours.

D* tweet today -Busy Sunday? We feel you. Catch the whole game in 30 minutes w/ #NFLSUNDAYTICKET short cuts. http://directv.com/sports/nfl

That link takes you here to the NFLST page, when you click short cuts you get the FAQ page.

One of the questions- "Can I set up my DIRECTV DVR to record my favorite team on NFL SUNDAY TICKET Short Cuts?

Yes, NFL SUNDAY TICKET subscribers will be able to record their favorite team with a DIRECTV DVR."

I guess D* doesn't have anyone to delete bad information from their website.

Just use the app. Yes they should have made an announcement. But folks just move on and watch it in your tablet, phone, etc. it's gonna be ok.

Many of us can't... cell isn't reliable. So we have to be on wifi, which probably means we're home... and would like to watch on a TV screen, not a 4-5" phone screen.

And high-speed internet isn't available to everyone, so, for rural folks - which is huge portions of the country, the feature is either eliminated or rendered useless by needing to be home or sit at Starbucks to watch them.

You can "cast" your app to your TV if you have chromecast or something similar. Picture quality is the same. But watching on your phone or tablet is nice when the wife is watching TV and you don't want to trudge upstairs.

I don't own a tablet or a phone capable of using the app. So it's not going to be ok for me.

There's a old saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it". AT&T fixed it.

I haven't seen the cast option on my Android phone for Directv. Other apps easily cast, and youtube PQ isn't bad, but I think the bad PQ on the phone for the shorts would be worse on a TV. I don't have a tablet, to me, they are the most unnecessary items ever created. It's too big to be your phone and it's too small to be a computer. Either way, if one has to be home to watch the Shorts, and one has DirecTV (note the TV, it's not DirectStreaming), and one has Sunday Ticket, shouldn't the content be on TV? on Directv? Peyton might get a signal in his park with the old man, but there is no place near me where I could do that. Half hour away, yeah there is 4GLTE, but cell towers obviously don't go that far. I don't understand why this is hard to understand. AT&T is penalizing Directv's original target market - rural areas without cable.

Had DirecTV just made Short Cuts also available on the app alongside TV then I would be perfectly fine with that. But to push it all to the app while still telling people it's on TV..... bad move DirecTV bad move.

We used to have AT&T for land-line, cell phone and broadband. Everything was OK until you had to talk with one of their CSRs. Two incidents relatively close together and I cancelled all three of our services with them. At this rate, our DIRECTV account (since 1998), won't make it another six months.

It's almost as if D* knew I was about to cut the cord…and move to a Vue streaming package. A few days before the start of the regular season, I got an email from AT&T, giving me a "perk:" NFL Sunday Ticket Max. Well done. Seriously: after testing the Vue app on a Roku 3 & seeing I could still watch local NFL broadcasts on CBS/FOX, I was going to cancel. So now D* has me through the end of the regular season.

After reading through this thread, I downloaded & installed the Sunday Ticket app on my Apple TV (new/4th generation). Short Cuts is on there in the Apple TV app…which, however, is terrible. There's no way to make the Short Cuts game full screen. The game resides in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. Oh, and do NOT touch the Apple TV remote: the slightest touch of the remote trackpad and the cursor switches to another game. Go back to the original game, you have to start all over from the beginning…no way to track forward in time.

Short Cuts work a little better on the iOS app, but as mentioned here--I have an HDTV for a reason. I wanna watch Short Cuts, full screen, on my HDTV. Not my iPhone or iPad. I could AirPlay from iPad-->HDTV I suppose, sure…but it's not as convenient as just watching games on actual TV channels. I'm not ungrateful for a free go at Sunday Ticket--I'm thankful. Just checking in here to echo the sentiments of others: AT&T pretty much lied about Short Cuts being on channels. Sunday Ticket seems to be taking a step backward, not forward.

The quality of production of shortcuts has also strongly decreased. They got very lazy with cut-ins to the next play, sometimes taking 20 seconds or so before it cuts to next play and usually in the middle of the commentators sentence. This has actually caused some shortcuts to go much longer than "30 minutes".

Also no more end of quarter stats, which was always done in the past. It's just a full of abrupt cut-ins and is really hard to watch. This, on top of no more STB access really sucks. They really cheaped out in this regard, unfortunately...

But it wasn't uncommon in previous years for them to cut off an announcer when going from one play to the next. Heck, if they waited until the commentators we're done talking, Short Cuts would be 2.75 hours, not 3.

But missing quarter stats? I think they really have lowered the quality of Short Cuts this year.

No offense, but seems like only a handful of people are here complaining about the changes to Short Cuts, which makes me think it wasn't a widely used service, thus the changes? I know I never used it, as between highlight shows, 24-7, 365 NFL coverage and DVRing the games I care about on Sunday, I get more than enough NFL. (Too much if I'm being honest.) Wondering if I'm the norm, not the exception. I'm sure they have ways to analyze the usage. Doesn't excuse them for not letting people know ahead of time about the changes though.

    I agree with you 100%.

If D* had just informed us that short cuts was only available by app, it wouldn't have been so irritating. They continue to advertise short cuts as being available on dvr for recording on their website.
