A good reason to call DISH and ask for a replacement.

What error are you seeing after the reboots? How long does the reboot take? Which Hopper (model) do you have?

And when is it resetting? Do they still reset every night?

No system should have to reboot EVERYNIGHT. This house is a 24 7 tv house. Some one in the house is watching tv 24/7. Direct tv didnt do this junk. The resets have been during daylight hours mostly. No error messages just stop. Hopper 3 shut down and then restart.

The actual nightly reboot comes with a warning message ... if you're watching you can delay the reboot for another hour each warning. The time can be set in settings. If it is happening in the daytime set the time for some time more appropriate for your needs. The nightly reboots are not a secret.

There is ALWAYS a message on reboot. If it is a spontaneous reboot ("the screen went black and the receiver restarted") the receiver will show an error message as it restarts. Please answer the questions. What is the message shown and how long does the reboot take?

If these are spontaneous resets calling DISH is your only remedy ... other than eating the ETF and going to another provider. That will also require a call to DISH.

Many 'new' Hopper installs are done with refurbished equipment. There's a very good chance, based on your description, that something is wrong with the Hopper. A simple call to DISH will get this resolved. I have had brand new equipment fail at first power ON, I have had refurbished equipment fail almost immediately. It's the way things work. It's how DISH reduces cost.

The Hopper 3 had a major firmware update this week (adding Amazon Prime app).
There was a bug requiring a second firmware update that is in process of rolling out.
Each one can take up to 30 minutes to auto install

These firmware updates are relatively rare so your reset problems should not continue.
