Our townhome community has to get new roofs due to a hail storm. When the satellite dishes came down, the HOA/board offered a special deal on re-installation through a third-party. So far, over 90% of the 70+ satellite dishes that had to come down were trashed, because most residents reported they are now streaming only. This is a picture of one of the many piles of dishes around the community waiting for trash pick-up. We do live in an area where high speed internet is easily available from multiple sources, so this much transition wouldn't occur in many or at least some places. I kind of miss the good old days when satellite was a less expensive alternative to cable. I think we got our first satellite dish in '95 or '96. We thought we were in the space age.
