I just had a HR44 Genie install this morning but Whole Home DVR isn't working. I called DTV and had them activate the service, but I still can't add my client receiver. My system is only a HR44 with a HR22 as the client. I have ethernet hard wired to the back of the HR44 and that is working fine, but the HR44 isn't seeing the HR22 and there is no deca installed on the HR22. Shouldn't there be a DECA at the back of the HR22?

Yes, the HR22 needs a DECA.

After doing some research I thought so too. I've already called the installer and left a message, hopefully he calls me back before the survey people do. LOL Thanks for the quick reply.

In the meantime, you can run an Ethernet cable to the back of the HR22, but try to get the DECA installed as soon as possible.

And just for clarification, you are not adding the HR22 as a client. As soon as the HR22 is hooked up to Ethernet or has the DECA installed, its PlayList will be seen by the Genie and vice versa.

Cool, now if the installer will call me back, I can get him to bring a deca by here, hopefully he is still in the area, if not I'll order one on amazon and have it here tomorrow.

He should have installed it when he installed your Genie.

I agree, I'm a little mad about that, plus the fact that he still hasn't returned my call. I'm going to call him again, in the meantime, I have both dvr's hooked up to my network, and both of them can see and download on demand, but they still can't see each other. I'm thinking he has something really screwed up. Thoughts?

Check the Whole Home Menu in the Settings menu to verify that Whole Home is authorized. Also, make sure that all the settings are set up for sharing as well. Also, can you post the IP addresses of each of your receivers? If they are getting VOD, you should be good on that end though.

He came back and got it working right with the DECA. So all is good now, thanks for your help.
