Been many eSATA threads here lately.

IMHO, WD10EVCS in Antec MX-1 case is the answer (currently).

I have 3 HR20-100 units, each working with a Seagate FreeAgent Pro, 750 GB. Coming up to a year with no problems, and these drives have a 5 year warranty!

Should be available for about $150 or so on sale - maybe less. Make sure it's the PRO model, since the FreeAgent does not have SATA, only USB.

I've been using a CoolMax CD-310 eSATA case with a Seagate Barracuda drive for 14 months, 0 problems.

    The CD-310 is IDE.

    You're using IDE?

Yes, don't you? Aren't all external drives IDE on the HR2x??????? Is this why I've been fighting for 14 months to get it to work, because I'm using IDE instead of eSATA?????????

The 310 has both IDE and eSATA versions, like I said in my origional post the CoolMax CD-310 eSATA.
This is the one I use.
