Yes, You just need to pick some other channel and then go back to the orignal channel. Part of the HRxx thinks it is back where it started, but other parts of the HRxx have palyed a switch in the video stream. To resync, a channel change is required to get everyone on the same page again. It also appears that if you start off with one of the HD mpg4 chananels it may not mess up and you won't see the problem.

This problem still exits with 0x022b. If it is a SW problem it was not addressed in this version.

Sorry guys, I didn't read through this - are we supposed to take the Signal Strength Level that Earl has up there at the Announcements? I am happy to do it and was getting ready to but my levels aren't where I want them to be and it needs tweaking still. I just wanted to ask before I send in my info. Thanks :)

If you know your levels aren't what they should be, then wait. "I think" the point of Earl's survey is to see what they are across the country.

The SWM5 wasn't. My guess it's the same here.

Bummer! Then if we need a firmware change it would have to go back to the shop, eh?

Ick! :nono2: I was hoping that since pulsed signals can be received that perhaps the SWM could be also programmed from a DVR/Receiver... :nono: :(

I'm wondering if this probem is in the SW or it a real Firmware bug. I had to revert an HR21 -700 to the NR version 0x0221 today for a Media sahre problem and decied to check out the signal strength test channel change issue. It does exist on 0x0221 also.

I asked someone with a SWM5 to check this out and they had the same issue. The fact we know is if you test via the SWM under signal strength it changes the viewable channel but the guide data under the infor remains the same as the original channel prior to testing. :)

BTW, when I did an XM channel, the information in the guide was of the original channel, but the streamed information for the songs was of the viewable channel.

We can speculate where the problem lies but will/might never know since we're not the developers and my experience is that DirecTV does share with field/CE testers what the fix was and to what. :(

The H20-600 I have doesn't have the SWM test under signal strength, another fact, yet there is no problem changing channels with it. I think this is a key item towards an answer. :)

I speculate that the SWM test under signal testing puts the SWM in a state which it was tested in and doesn't put it back is all. The assumes the IF changes are coincident to the channels being changed from and then to.

Do you know the spectrum bands the the SWM setup and how that is done?
