Synopsis updated 1/22/2013 - Orbit Location (TLE) will be updated after Launch

Status of the DirecTV-14 (D14) Satellite:
    • D14 Launch Info (FCC Call Sign S2869):
      • Construction by Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) expected to be completed by January 1st, 2014
      • Launch expected late-2013 / early-2014
      • Launch service provider will be Arianespace
      • Via Ariane 5 rocket from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana
      • Target location is 99.235° W.L.
    • D14 CONUS:
      • 16 transponders (TP9-TP24, 36 MHz wide) of national bandwidth for MPEG4 HD from 99°. 36 MHz wide
      • Each transponder supporting 6 HD channels for a total capacity of 96 national HD channels to be delivered to the 48 contiguous states (CONUS) plus Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico
      • Within the Ka-Hi (19872-20188 MHz) frequency range
      • Spaceway-2 (SW2) is currently allocated the entire Ka-Hi (19700-20200) frequency range, therefore it's expected that SW2 and D14 will now share the range, with SW2 using the lower end, and D14 using the higher end
    • D14 Local-in-Local (LiL):
      • 8 transponders (TP1-TP8, 36 MHz wide) of spot beam bandwidth for MPEG4 HD LiL from 99°
      • Supporting 46 spot beams to expand current HD local-into-local service and enhance HD service into Hawaii and Puerto Rico, in 69 designated market areas (“DMAs”) and Puerto Rico
      • Within the Ka-Hi (19712-19868 MHz) frequency range (same as D11)
    • D14 RB-1 BSS Payload (FCC Call Sign S2711):
      • To Be Completed
    Progress of DirecTV-14:
    Two Line Element (TLE) Format:
