I don't know what to tell you. If every game was in HD, there would be no reason for the -1 channels to exist. Unless DirecTV screwed up.

I am a little confused by your statement, because until everyone has an HD receiver, you still need channel XYZ for SD and channel XYZ-1 for HD.

Directv can not broadcast a game in HD if it is only in SD.

No, you don't. That is why they have ESPNHD on 206 and not 206-1.

Sunday Ticket in 2010 was not on -1 channels. The reasons they do -1 for parttime channels are a) not all games are in HD (maybe not true for MLB this year) so you don't get games hidden on hidden SD channels and b) a seperate fee for HD games versus SD, meaning that HD boxes don't necessarily get the HD games if the fee is not paid (the reason why the NFL was -1 until 2010, when HD games were not a seperate fee).

The games may be in HD, but will DirecTV have them all in HD? Are there still distribution problems for multi-team areas like LA and the Bay Area? I know NY and Balto/Wash have not been a problem. Not sure of Chicago.

MLB EI uses alot of RSN remaps and some of them are on part time HD RSN or on RSN OVER flow channels.

For Chicago 99%-100% WGN games are on wgn america as well (some make up games may be Chicago area only) WCIU games in the past where in SD on MLB EI.

Not sure that matters. I doubt they need to use a -1 if the RSN is a -1. All the EI channels are part time.

Yeah, the -1 on the RSN doesn't make a difference for EI. The only reason to use a -1 is if the HD feed isn't always there.

Sixto, according your last report, two channels (503, 507) just changed names; not added/removed.
Perhaps new class of updates should be covered in new version ? ;)

I kinda like it the way it is, but your point is well taken. :)

Has come up before, haven't felt the need yet to re-write anything to make it any smarter. Maybe some day.

Certainly beats the old way where I was manually reviewing spreadsheets. :)

Yep, there's lots of ways to look at it.

Personally, I always view it as the TEST channel is being removed, and the "live" production channel is being added, not just a name change.

Sixto, for the locked thread, SR just announced there's been 2 new HD carriage deals signed in the anticipation thread. You can take down the HBO announcement.

Posted my comments in the other thread.

I've always thought that the 400 title new on-demand service might do some special "push" things utilizing D12, but was never able to prove anything.

Have no details other then what P. and gct posted.

Sixto you should remove "Those two HBO channels will launch next Wednesday barring any technical issues." from the locked thread.
