    Huh? :)

It shows that 162 went on hold (offline), and PPV channel 124 is "live" in it's place.

That's the basic principle of how all the part-time movement works.

And shows in most every listing. :)

    Reminder (from the legend):
The slots labeled 10xx (usually 1010-1050) are the "live" active slots, usually 5 per transponder.

There's sometimes a 6th slot (1060) for an SD channel sharing a transponder, usually just on D12.

1700 is where channels move when they're offline or on-hold, just as a placeholder until they're "live" again.

So you usually see a Cinema channel move to 1700, at the same time a part-time channel moves to it's slot (1010-1050).

    0000 is an unassigned state.

1FC0 is used for the Mix channels, which usually need 2 slots, so you see 2 slots go offline (to 1700), when a Mix channel goes "live" (to 1FC0).

That's the basics, as simply as I can explain it.

The term "slot" is just a term I've used to explain everything, it's not the actual technical term.

Feel free to ask any questions, that's what this thread is for.

Why not have a NHL Mix HD as well?

It's just a matter of bandwidth, and infrastructure on the ground to support a Mix Channel.

    $.

The off topic posts have been moved to the HD anticipation thread.

    Thanks for understanding.

Sorry Sixto, read it so fast in "hd anticipation" and didn't notice 124 go in it's place.

Why replace a PPV with a PPV anyway? Just wanted to move Channel 162 down to Channel 124? Lower numbers are better numbers?

Who knows? Maybe something to do with the way they want to group the movies. Lower numbers are for more popular movies.

That date makes sense. Rugby World Cup starts on 9/9/11. 38 of the 48 matches on PPV.

    I do wonder....

Why would they launch the 9/9 PPV today, and not launch the test for the 9/9 HD channel launch? Why not do them together, either today or tomorrow?

They probably want to get the rugby channel up in the guide early so they can get the word out and sell more PPV's.
