Posted as a note to those that don't check the SkyAngel forum ...

Fox News Channel on Sky Angel! (May 10th)
Daystar droppped -- Hallmark coming in its place! (Now available)
Gospel Music Television will be history soon -- Hallmark Movie Channel coming soon!

On E* FNC is an AT120 channel, Hallmark is an AT180 channel and Hallmark Movie (not yet available) is not on E*.

All three channels are/will be available as part of the normal SkyAngel subscription - with no price increase yet. Additional 'family' channels are planned (apparently replacing religious channels).

I think Dish SHOULD add Logo! And they already have Here up and running!

We're talking about SkyAngel, not Dish per se.

    WTF?

Well - this is really interesting. What else are they going to add?

This is treading a little bit too much on DISH's water and if that old agreement is still in place then SA just made a big booboo.

I think Here is a Gay PPV channel:

    Here! - PPV - EPG name: HERE ch 537 tp 27 sat 110° E*6

    http://www.heretv.com/

"here!, America's first gay television network, was established in 2002 by Regent Entertainment co-founders Paul Colichman and Stephen P. Jarchow. here!, currently available in more than 30 million households, offers a wide variety of high quality movies, original series and general entertainment programming targeted to a broad-based gay and lesbian audience. here! is now available on satellite nationwide via DIRECTV and DISH Network, and on cable in markets including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Washington DC, Austin, San Antonio and Milwaukee."

The agreement was more complicated than we first thought. Evidently, while it prohibits E* from carrying many religious channels, it allows SA to carry secular channels. See Tony's posts in the Sky Angel forums.

It is here because it shows E* allowing SkyAngel to carry non-religious networks and, in general, SkyAngel becoming a more general entertainment service - a mini-AT60 - instead of a nitch service.

Well since Sky Angel has decided to drop Daystar it would only seem right if dish is allowed to show the channel to all of its customers again. And since the physical dayster channels for those markets that get it now have been re-uplinked it may be going back that way

To be clear. Daystar DUMPED Sky Angel. Sky Angel did not dump Daystar. I'm sure that Dominion's winning suit that had Daystar removed from Dish played a roll in that.

    See ya

SkyAngel fired the first salvo by threatening to dump Daystar for not running enough promotions for the service on their channel. Daystar was slated for removal until they appeared on E* - then they were kept around on SkyAngel during the lawsuit. I expected them to go away as soon as the suit was settled (with out-of-market Daystar viewers being the big losers with no national feed).

Officially you are correct. I don't see Daystar's side of the removal issue on their website (although the old lawsuit pages told the first part of the story). Just quietly going away.

FYI, the correct spelling is "niche", even though it is sometimes pronounced as "nitch". (Although, as the word is of French derivation, it's usually pronounced as it is spelled, which would be "neesh".)

    No biggie, though. Just sayin'.
