    Apparently Yeager was in the neighborhood that day as well, going from Nellis to White Sands in an F15 and hitting Mach 1.4. He says he was in the back seat, as it wasn't his plane, but that he was in control at that time.

    I'd have to think he has to be one of the oldest to go supersonic, though hard to know with the Concorde.

    Chuck Yeager is a great man.I recommend reading his autobiography which name I can not remember.

    Kind of wish it was available in Kindle format. Amazon seems to just have it in paper and some dealer has it in an extremely overpriced cassette format.

    Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I just saw that "Space Dive" is being shown on National Geographic for those that want to know the background on the space jump.
