sl3s + 21v pi + frequency sweep from 150mhz to 2150mhz

    ok i think i have the dish aimed right. (think*)
    bottom to top
    no lnbf ports covered with tin-foil
    lnbf ka-left port covered only
    lnbf ku (middle) port covered only.
    lnbf ka-right port covered only but it looks like the bottom one where no ports were covered.
    i did unplug the power inserter at very end that is why the spectrum dont match the fft at very end

    Curious ...

    How are you successively covering the Ka/Ku feedhorns when they are all grouped close together under the same weather protective cap?

    Did you break off the cap to individualy cover the three feedhorns one at a time?

    I'm confused the wording … "ports" ?! there are three feedhorns what could be blocked separately by using alum foil; well sorta
    Other confusion is "left-right" sides … q is - are you looking from a front LNBF or the dish ? Would be more clear using terms of sats: 99 or 101

    Now I'm thinking it was legacy LNBF … just checked AU-9 PCB, it has 8VDC VRs on each of four ports.

    sorry about that.
    yes i took the plastic cover off and was putting heavy tin foil in front of each of the feed horns.
    im not sure if i have the antenna aimed right or not as i can see the left ka and center ku but the right ka feed horn im not seeing any difference.
    not sure if i just dont have it aimed right or if its bad or what.
    getting ready to mess around some more.

    @tdbone1, I would aim the dish first, to get good signal on all 3 sats:99/101/103. Next step would be SSA gaming ...

    getting ready to re-check my 99, 101 and 103 alignment now.
    got to get that right first to check all the lnb settings to make sure they working correct.

    For your setup, I would cover 99 and 103 feedhorns, run SSA and watching 13 or 18 V port at SWiN-16 will find maX level for 101w 16 tpns; they are pretty uniform and easy to recognize

    With the SL3, "tone & no tone" is the difference between 99 & 103 [aka the right/left]

    Ku is "hardwired" to always be there.

    Yeah ...

    You'll have to tap into one of the SWiM-16's ports with the 22 KHz tone feeding the LNB to see the 103 Ka signals on your SDR ....

    let him get 101W Ku tpn first, showing 16 tpns by LimeSDR
    then 99W and eventually 103W ...

    reverse order so read the fft from bottom to top.

    Ku is covered by default and im using a 6db attenuator
    13v22khz Ka Left and Ka Right both un-covered
    13v22khz Ka Left covered and Ka Right un-covered
    13v Ka Left covered and Ka Right un-covered
    13v Ka Left covered and Ka Right covered
    13v Ka Left and Ka Right both un-covered
    13v Ka Left and Ka Right both covered but Ku uncovered.
    13v22khz Ka Left and Ka Right both covered but Ku uncovered.

    the best i can do with this setup as i dont think i can actually disable the Ka to check Ku correctly.
    all i can do is cover up the LNBF feedhorns which changes the signal strengths.
    which does work kind of.

    i did zoom in on the Ku band with both Ka feed horns covered and i think i count 15 TPN's

    I'm puzzled not seen bell-shape Ku/Ka transponders. Why are only spikes on your scans ?
    Could you post your pictures more accurate way - my Edge cannot display part of them … perhaps upload to free file host

    has anyone ever checked how much the DRO L/O's can be adjusted to give a different freq range?

    yea you need that?
    1 min and ill make a new one.
    crap i have to find that same spot which i think i can but i have moved the dish.
    gimmie a few mins and ill put the same numbers in that spectrum app to get the same results but this time i will zoom in on the tops off the TPN's
    sorry bout that.

    I'm confused as well by these spectural displays ...

    How come we never see the expected spectra with all 99, 101, and 103w feedhorns uncovered such as was published by Sonora Design courtesy of Agilent back a number of years ago (2013 specifically) in the following tutorial pp. 3-6?Tapatalk Cloud - Downlaoad File SWM_DESIGN_CH3.pdf
