    Co-located at 99 & 103 with those already there.
And your signals are good [a few points don't count]. I wouldn't do anything with 95%, 80 something, sure.

Since the birds are spread so wide, the shape of the dish is what pulls the signals in. Your best aim is a compromise between all the satellites. Anytime you try and optimize one individual bird, you could (and probably will) hurt performance on other satellites. Proper alignment according to instructions should give you an acceptable signal on all birds. None will be optimized, but all should be good.

If I'm not under any of the spotbeams (no HD locals) should I get any signal at all on 99/103? My H20 sat strength page shows "n/a" for all Xponders except 1-6 on sat 103-Net 14. XP 1-6 show dashes (no reading).

If you are close to a dma using one of the spot beams it will show, but with lower signal strength.

Kind of what I thought. I won't be able to tell if KA is working until they launch the national HD MPEG4s later this year.

I'm about 15 miles north of you in Bergen County. For the 6 active transponders at 99, I get 97, 96, 94, 96, 94, and 97 respectively. Your installationw as likely done by DirectTech, the same bozos that did mine. The first installer left with signals in the 50's on 99 and he didn't attach the dish out-riggers. If you're still within the first 90 days of your installation call up DirecTV and have them send somebody out again. If you talk to the dispatcher, ask for James Vu (aka "Spiderman") to be assigned...he's the guy that finally got my install working properly.

Yeah I hate DirecTech. For my first appointment they showed up 6 hours late and didn't even bother to call. I probably will call back for additional adjustments to be made. What signals are you getting on the 103 in NJ? My highest signal on the 103 is 67...

How many of the additional poles should they be installing?

"normally" two monopoles [which is the same number that comes with the dish].
I have none, & it's been fine for over a year. YMMV

True, but also there is a bug in the H20 receivers which stops them reporting 99/103 correctly. The H20-600 reports 103 OK but not 99. The H20-100 reports incorrectly on 99 and does not report 103 at all. Hopefully this will be corrected in a software release before the national HD channels launch....

The installer that installed my au9 dish told me that I wouldn't get a signal for 99 and 103. He told me that once the new sats go up then Ill have to call and have them come realign it. My 103 signals are
    1-58
    2-0
    3-0
    4-0
    5-66
    6-0
    17-0

    and 99

    1-0
    2-15
    3-0
    4-0
    5-0
6-12 Was he telling me the truth? Or was he supposed to align it the first time?

Post your signal readings for 101 and 119. From that we can tell you if the dish is properly algined for 99 and 103.

It may be properly algined. No way to tell from the readings you posted.

How is that possible to have a 100 and a 99 signal reading? I thought the 103 was all spotbeams, and NYC is using 99, not 103.

The spotbeams are not that tight. The "hot" transponders are probably Philadelphia and Hartford-New Haven. We're probably also seeing Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, Buffalo or even Baltimore.

Where are you in LA? Where I am I don't get much from the 99... but my 103 is 88,0,0,50,93,0,0.

I had to reaim my Slimline dish this week to get that strength. Before mine were just like yours. there's a thread here somewhere detailing what I did...I'l see if I can find it...

EDIT: Found it! Here ya go... http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=86024&page=2

    Brandon,
Those look like pretty good numbers for 101, 110 and 119. Chances are pretty good that 99 and 103 will be there when the light up in your area.
