This is what I know so far...

This app will be separate from the DIRECTV scheduling app. It will only work with HR21 and higher model HD-DVR's. The app will stream live programming and recorded programming from your DIRECTV receiver to your iPhone, and is expected to work over WiFi and 3G data connections. You may need to make some configuration changes to your home router (a.k.a - port forwarding), and I will get that information to you all ASAP.

Feel free to ask any questions that you may have and I will do my best to answer them or get them answered for you.

Interesting, I wonder what the limitation with the HR20 is? Either way very excited to be testing (and I don't have an HR20 anyways), so it's all good!

If some of you need help setting up port forwarding let me know.

So much for thinking we didn't need to worry about port forwarding on the receivers.... Oh well...

Good question. I've heard no mention of a dedicated iPad app (which would be really nice), but I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use the iPhone app on the iPad. I'll see what I can find out on this.

I'm hoping the app takes advantage of the new high-res screen on the iphone 4.

I still gotta wait for the iPad with a camera. I don't use PIP too much. Double play works fine for me.

Some industrial strength velcro on the corner of the TV and back of the iPad... and you'd have real PiP...
