Does anyone have a link to this review, or is in only in "print"?
If only print, the lead time may be such that the review was done a while back.
I've had a Genie since last June, and it wasn't that spectacular then, but has been updated since and improved.
Maybe not to the expectations of some, but still better than it was.

It's even sillier now that we have two HR44 reviews and I have reason to suspect that "average folks" will have access to the HR44 fairly soon.

I have seen so many posts (not only in this thread, but in other ones too) complaining about the performance of the HR34.

I guess I have been very fortunate, but our HR34 has been serving us well for over a year (Got it December 2011 - Started off with the old SD GUI).

I mean, I don't find it slow at all. When I press GUIDE and LIST they come up right away. When I scroll, it does so right away, as well.

Channel Number inputs are accepted immediately. There are no delays.

It hasn't missed a recording as far as I recall.

If anything, the only complaint I have about the HR34 is that it doesn't buffer (most of the time) when the unit is off.

Other than that, we have been completely satisfied with the HR34 Genie Server.

Perhaps I'm in the minority here. Perhaps the ones with positive experiences just haven't commented. But, at least in my experience (and hopefully for many others out there) the Genie is not as bad (or not bad at all) as others have claimed it to be.

I don't have problems with mine, the c31 is slower than I would like and sometimes there is no sound on the c31 but I just have to turn it off and on again but the hr34 has been fine. Personally I'd rather have another h24 to go with the genie than the c31 even if that means losing the trick play of the c31.

If they would just fix one thing on the HR34 it would make it much more tolerable for me... Quicktune, is WAY too slow!
