The channels are now from 464 to 470. Fox Deportes no longer on the 600 block. This is unusual for DIRECTV, most of the time there's an e mail or card in the mail notice.

As far as I know, the Spanish language soccer channels have always been on the 400's, with the exception of the Fox Deportes which had the duplicate in 600s

Yeah they just finally removed the duplicate.

No, they were in other places in 400-459 (as well as a duplicate for fox deportes in the 600s) and earlier this year they mirrored these channels together in the 460s. Now the new channel numbers in the 460s remain and the original places are gone (ESPN deportes was 432, udn was 455, fox deportes was 425, beIN espanol had been 426 and TyC Sports had been 427 and GolTV had Ben 456).

Attached is a short Excel showing the 400 and 600 channel blocks as they appeared on 9/16/2015, just a few weeks ago. [ Note that the HD and SD channels are intermixed for this view.]

Compared to our current TPN Map there are many, many changes, just as daniloni suggests. This has been a very quiet and un-advertised channel shuffle and re-organization.

Notice that they have been shuffling TIDs and TPNs too. So while there is a sort of 'load balancing' exercise underway here, that does not explain the Channel Number changes. If we published all of this kind of information each week, I fear we would snow under a lot of folks with all the detail. If ever we had enough interest, we could give it a try.

Is there any word about Telemundo national feeds being added in HD? I get a local feed but they constantly make choices to go with news broadcasts when there are futbol matches. For example, Friday night they are showing news instead of the Mexico Olympics qualifier. Yet, the Telemundo national feed is SD only.

NBCU doesn't offer the national Telemundo feeds in HD, only the feed used by the OTA affiliates is available in HD.

How do you get the local Telemundo? Via DirecTV? I thought the only way to get it is at channel 406/407

If you live in a market that has an OTA affilate you get it as part of your locals, except for some markets where the Telemundo affiliate is on a subchannel or a low powered station.

How do I find out about it? Do they have a "channel finder" site that I can look up? I searched all my locals (100 and lower) and I did not see it.

Yes, enter your ZIP code on this DirecTV page. Telemundo is listed in the left-hand column as "TMO."

Thanks. I tried, and it is not there. Surprising, since I live in DC metro area with a huge Latino population

DC's Telemundo affiliate is 25.1 WZDC-LD, which is a low power station so they can't use must carry to get satellite carriage, you can probably get it OTA though.

I subscribe to English only packages. Used to be Choice Xtra or I think.

How do I get Unimas? I do get Univision, galavision, and unideportes. I'm looking for mls playoff games and I want Unimas!

UniMas's national feed requires a satellite capable of receiving the 119 slot like the slimline 5

Ok. But what package? My friend has the same package, choice Xtra with sports pack, and has 5lnb and no Unimas.

They currently list it for the following:
    Choice
    Preferred Xtra
    Xtra
    Ultimate
    Premier
    Mas Latino
    Optimo Mas
    Mas Ultra
    Lo Maximo

They don't list it for any of the outdated packages like Total Choice or Choice Xtra Classic

If you want to switch to Xtra you'll gain the following:
    BBC World News
    Fusion
    Sundance
    UniMas

But you'll lose the following which now require Ultimate or higher:
    Boomerang
    Chiller
    El Rey
    Esquire
    Sprout
Univision Deportes (Also available with Sports Pack)

Well why can't Directv use the feed the affiliates use for hd. I can't imagine all affiliates receive it from fiber so there must be some national hd feed via satellite.

NBCU won't let them or any other provider use that feed. It's also not the same as the feed used by cable and satellite providers, like instead of promos there's just a test pattern during local breaks, there's also some alternate programming that isn't on the national feed. i.e. prior to the launch of NBC Universo, the OTA Telemundo affiliates had Sunday Night football in spanish while the national feed didn't. The network feed has a mix of taggable promos and test patterns when the OTA affiliates have local programming, while the national feed has alternate programming.

Univision and Ion have similar setups with different feeds for OTA stations, although their national feeds are available in HD.
