I've been installing for D now for almost three years. I'm going out on my own and would like some opinions on my business name. I have already registered Cantrell's Wire but am rethinking it. I am thinking of HiDefilicious Installs. Take a look at my website so you can see what I am doing and give me your opinions! http://www.cantrellswire.com

    Thank You,

    Blake.

Blake -- since you are doing all types of installations, I'd be more inclined to name it something like "Cantrell's Audio/Video" unless you intend to concentrate on D installations. The downside, of course, is that it doesn't call attention to your satellite business. The upside is that the name would build more trust and customer confidence. You can emphasize the satellite aspect of your business in ad placement -- multiple listings in phonebooks, for example.

Cute names can be attention grabbers, but when it comes down to actually doing business, folks generally turn to more traditionally named businesses.

Blake- I'm not sure if that's your actual truck on the web-page or not? but you may want to hide or modify the license plate for your protection.

It is my truck and that is my plate. The truck is registered to Cantrell's Wire so I'm not worried.

I'd go with Cantrell's Wire. It is simple, memorable, and will stand the test of time.

Hidefilicious will be too hard for your customers to remember and too hard for them to recommend you to someone else. Also, in a few years, the name will sound dated (kind of like the motel signs that advertise free HBO, or worse, color TV).

I like your tag line (Who's your Installer?) and you should definitely use it in BIG font on the side/back of your truck ..

I'm with those who like "Cantrell's Wire". It's solid and classic and will be around long after "licious" sounds as dated as "awesome".

Although there is a lot of agreement on "Cantrell's Wire", I'm inclined to feel something more obvious to the potential customer would be more appropriate, which is why I suggested "Cantrell's Audio/Video". "Wire" doesn't really say what your product/service is.

Looking over your website, it is very apparent Cantrell's Wire is a very good choice. I agree with Cholly however, in that wire tends to imply less than what you are... I know, I'm not offering a name (yet). I need to think some more on it.

BTW, your site is nicely done!

Thank you all for the advice! I'll be sticking With Cantrell's Wire. I would like to update the Wire part but for now who knows to what. BTW I bought "www.whosyourinstaller.com" as soon as I saw that!
