I guess everytime there is a free preview, we can look forward to the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork with the same complaint that Dish won't give them free stuff for their $12 a month?

...or the people like me who already subscribe to and pay through the nose for virtually every premium move channel on the planet and then have up with to put watching movies bastardized by incessant sales pitches and perpetual on-screen exhortations to call 800 numbers to get what I already have and am trying to enjoy in the first place! :bang

    Grrrr! :grrr:

In the same vein I actually know a woman who complains how she doesn't get a tax refund like "everybody else". Well she doesn't have an income and lives off of the welfare system and can't understand why she doesn't get money back from the government come tax time. People have tried explaining to her but somehow she still thinks she's not getting her fair share somehow. Yeah there's plenty of people who just don't get it.

Ssshhh. They have rolled the IRS into the welfare system. If she filed, she would probably get thousands of dollars in tax credits refunded to her, of taxes she never paid in the first place.

I guess it doesn't matter. The Feds are printing over $90 billion in funny money every month. Our taxes no longer even come close to covering the cost of government. Half a trillion dollars in deficit in one year...

When you add in the trade deficit, we are going in hock for over a trillion dollars a year.

Can someone post the list of which Starz channels will be on which channel number, so I can program TiVo? Thanks.

Last time, Dish created new channels for the free period. The free channels did not describe the movie.
Additionally, they did not enable receivers to get the new free channels until many hours after the free time started.

I think I spent over an hour with customer support trying to get them to enable the free channels. The CSRs told me there wasn’t anything they could do to deliver the free channels. Eventually, I called programming. They gave me access to the regular channels, and told me to call and cancel the channels by the end of the free period, unless I wanted to buy them.

The CSRs I talked with, assured me that Dish would not enable me to receive the regular movie channels for free until they figured out how to down load the new free channels. So much for one department knowing what the other is doing.

While I think of it, one CSR offered to send me a new 510. When I queried how that would get me the new free channels for the weekend, since the new 510 would not arrive until Tuesday, there was silence.

Sometime during the weekend, Dish finally got the new channels going. I programmed my unit to record the new free channels, called Dish, cancelled the regular channels over the phone line, and was not charged for them.

Dish finally delivered good service, after screwing it all up.

Wonder if I should start calling them now to see if this time they will actually enable the new free channels when the free time starts?

AFTER E* actually activates the free channels
    (somewhere in the "280-290" range)
my 721 "will most likely" require a reboot and possibly a smartcard pull to get the "free channels" to appear.
Whatever E* is doing to activate these, doesn't work well with my 721 and apparently with other receivers as well. (or at least it hasn't the last two previews) But if I can get it to work and get the free preview, I will still be happy.
