The Sat. game with the Avs is on WPIX (can't tell from their website if it's HD). It is also on MSG2, not in HD, and it is on the CI schedule, probably from MSG2. Unfortunately, the Avs do very few away games in HD, thus their feed is also SD.
So, Dolan still sucks, but the team has turned the page.

and tomorrow's Rangers Leafs game is on NHL Network in HD, so screw you again.

I can not figure out why Dolan is punishing us, no one on this board cares who controls his website.

According to the Rangers website, both WPIX Rangers games will be produced in HD. Of course, we will not get these as part of NHL CI in HD, but only in SD via MSG2 apparently.

Yesterday, I sent a very diplomatic letter to the NHL and MSG about this current problem. I asked, for their fans sake, that both sides come together to allow MSG HD to be re-added to the NHL CI lineup. Probably won't do any good, but there isn't much I can do.

This is a corollary to Jim Bouton's comment about being a ballplayer... Only a baseball player has to explain to his wife why she needs penicillin for his kidney infection. Here it is, we need to lose HD on MSG because Dolan and Bettman have a visceral dislike for each other.

I would say it's been at least 5 years since WSBK showed a Bruins game, and I don't believe they ever showed one in HD.

Thank goodness for NESN. They know how to run an RSN. The teams own, the way it should be.

Nope, no HD Bruins ever on WSBK. I think that their last broadcast of a Bruins road game was in 2005 (the home games moved to NESN back in the 80's).

The big advantage NESN has over most of the other RSNs, is they are a single network, not like FSN who has many different networks to supply HD equipment to. It will take a while before they are all full time HD.
You are right though, NESN does a great job, one of my main reasons for subscribing to the RSN package.

Another Ranger loss...to many to count now. Mr. Dolan if you want the curse to end put MSG HD back on NHLCI - its that simple.

By the sounds of the crowd, toward the end of the game, it sounds like they are disgusted with the entire Ranger management.

Has anyone noticed how both the Knicks and Rangers (except for a few isolated seasons) have gone to pot since the Gahden came under corporate ownership? In fact, can anyone point to any team, in any sport, that has been a consistent winner under corporate ownership?

The 'Fire Sather!' chorus has been going on for awhile, and he should have been shown the door, although end of the season is more likely if they miss the playoffs. It does not appear that Jim Dolan is listening to those chants, if he is ever in the building.
Meanwhile, no word on whether MSG in HD will return to Center Ice this season. Even if the Rangers are stinking up the joint, I still want to watch it in HD, but right now I guess that means waiting for March 8th on NBC and March 9th on Versus.

I do not know if anyone noticed. But last year before MSG/MSG+ HD was added to CI, IO ran a commerical stating they were the only place to get the Ranges, Devils, etc in HD. Once those stations were added to Directv and CI, that commerical went away.

Last night during the Devils game, which was not in HD, the commerical is now back.

We might never see these HD again until a change in ownership.

I don't see how they could say that since isn't MSG/MSG+ HD still available to NYC area D* customers, it's only out of market MSG HD NHL games that are being withheld? I can say that I have subscribed to NHL CI since the days of Primestar but will not renew next season if this mess isn't solved.

Yes.. none in HD though. :) An example - Hawks games on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, which is a RSN carried in HD by DirecTV = HD broadcasts of Hawks games on CI. Hawks games on WGN, which is a local broadcast network that DirecTV does not carry = SD only games, even though it airs locally in Chicago in HD.

(Before anyone gets their hopes up - Superstation WGN is NOT the same content as the local Chicago WGN, so if DirecTV gets the WGN Superstation HD feed, it will NOT translate to getting Hawks games that air on WGN in HD.)

Center Ice has contracts to broadcast all SD games from any affiliate, including Canadian broadcasts. HD is a whole other story.

It is very unlikely that this game will be on MSG2. Last year MSG moved 2 Rangers games to WWOR 9. Neither of those games were available anywhere else. In addition, in the promos for the game against the AV's the Graphic as well as Sam Rosen said the game was "Exclusively on WPIX 11 and in HD". While the game is still showing up on the Guide as MSG2 the odds are DirecTV has yet to remove.

No, they were running the IO commercials while we were getting MSGHD on CI. Besides NBA League Pass is showing the Knicks in HD tonight and as they are playing Philadelphia I would assume that it is the Knicks feed as the Comcast Philly deal covers the 76ers as well.

This commercial was changed very slightly after D* added MSG HD to their lineup (Dec 5, 2007). The guy (Charles) in the commercial states "FIOS, Dish,..." and then states that none of these services offers the NY team's games free in HD. D* offered MSG HD/MSG+ HD for a fee (notice that I used past tense here!!), so that is how CV got past this statement. Plus, to some people, using the term "DISH" probably groups all satellite providers (D*, E*, etc.) together.

I am really get fed up with MSG and the NHL over this continued problem. They are screwing the fans of 4 teams (Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and Sabres) with this 3rd grade-like quarrel. We, the fans, are the lifeblood of the NHL and these teams existing and making money. Just like how a strike can decimate a fan's support for their team, the league, and the sport in general, removing the HD games of these teams from the various providers of NHL CI is having the same effect.
