Strange Manual Recordings?

    This is only a guess but I think it is related to the banner ads they force into our guides.

    Its already been mentioned what it likely is. Don't know why you'd think it is for the banner ads, unless you mean it has to do with pushed movies...

    It might be a tag along that gets left behind when they put a new banner ad in the guide.
    What was mentioned as "likely" is not definitely what it is, just like this is a speculative guess.

    No, it's not just a "speculative" guess. If you check the transponder maps thread in the Tips and Resources forum, you'd see the channels listed on the recordings are the channels used to push local ads to DVRs where instead of generic DirecTV promos during the local avail, you'll get ads from local companies like car dealers, restauraunts, technical schools, etc. Usually these are in the reserved space with pushed movies but for whatever reason they're showing up as recordings. If it just started after the recent firmware upgrades, you should report it in the issues thread.

    As has been said, not really all that speculative, and frankly I saw it years ago when they first started pushing movies to units. Its a glitch with pushed content, not some sort of ad banner.
