I have a question, I have 3 months left under my contract. Would I possibly get ST for Free because I would love to have that deal.

Wait until your contract is up, and call them and ask if you extend your contract another year, would they give you free ST. Cant hurt to ask.

Thank You for the information. I do not intend to go mobile, so I will not need that part, so I will save my $100.

    I appriciate the assistance

With max you also get "shortcuts" where they show every play from every ST game....each game is about 25 minutes....really cool.

This to me is the real reason to have Max. I hardly ever watch RedZone and I have never used "To Go," but I love the shortcut replays. I think this year it will be even more beneficial because I know there are going to be more games I want to watch than I can catch live without missing a significant portion. I'm going to be interested in seeing all of Manning in Denver & the rookie QB's progress, for example. I am going to keep the higher package for that reason alone.

That doesn't mean I'm not going to try to get it cheaper. ;)

(Heavenly Father, forgive me for agreeing with a Cowboys fan :p )

Actually, you can call now. There have been reports here of people getting NFLST free with 12 month committment in your situation in which your contract will simply end this time next year instead of in 3 months. Just call and speak to retention CSR and tell them about this deal that your friends are getting (NFLST for 12 month committment, and when you get it, confirm that it means you're contract will now end in a year from now).

I just called and got the deal.

    Said "Cancel" at the prompt

I am currently out of contract.

I want to know if there are any promotions.

He said yes, but he was having technical difficulties with his system.

He said the offers are $0 for standard, $99 for Max. With a 12 month agreement

He was able to offer $149 as a 1-time payment with no extension of my agreement.

I prefer to be out of contact so $149 is still a fantastic deal.

Could not have been any easier! I called on a Saturday morning and my CSR was American.

    Good luck!

Note: I had previously called before it was renewed on my account and got shot down. I called AFTER 2012 Ticket was added to my recent activity and my sports.
I recommend calling after the $0.00 renewal is added to your account

I think I will do that. Thanks. I am just trying to think if I want to go because I occassionally use it, and Redzone is on there.

I like the idea of having Max to watch the Red Zone channel on my Ipad while I am watching my team on tv. With fantasy football leagues Sundays are pretty crazy around here.

I called and have no contract. CSR offered $20 off for 12 months. so thats $240 off of $299. so I pay $60. Never mentioned the contract renewal so i still dont have one.

She also threw in the Whole home DVR for free but would need the 2 yr committment. not sure if i want to do that. is that a good deal?

Just got off the phone with retentions. Was told there are no offers or promotions for Sunday ticket specifically but the csr wanted to help me out if he could. Been a cust for four years or so with the ticket every year. He offered $20 off for the next 12 months. I even asked about extending my contract and he still stated there were no specific deals. I didnt really want to play csr roulette so i took the deal. While not the best deal it allows me to keep max for basically $60.

after 3 calls....had to get them to switch the ST back to just the basic, didn't need or want the Max. First 2 calls got ZERO deals...

tonight....almost went down the same road.

    2 turning points.....

    1. when they did offer (tonight) ST for 24 x 6......i asked how long this offer is good for. CSR was unable to answer

    2. CSR then asked "what type of promo/discount" I was looking for.....i thought for a second...and quickly came back with the 50% off and pay for the remainder ($99.95) up front. She agreed (after checking with her boss) I took it.

    DTV customer since 2003

IMHO...throw out the part about spanish or foreign speaking CSR's. My CSR did have a Spanish (?) accent but she was very professional and even though she later admitted to not having a favorite football team, she understood me and acted as though she wanted to help. Muy bien gracias Lupeeda! (Did I say that right?):D

Just a tip: When you speak to the retention CSR, don't ask what they can do for you, or how they can help you out. That's what you normally would do, BUT:

It's been confirmed they have an offer of NFLST free with 12 month committment (And if you still under committment until next year or for whenever, you still get it too, as proven in this thread). You need to call and lead with that: (Gotta focus the retention CSR on this deal from the get go)

"My friend just got NFLST free with a 12 month committment and that sounds fantastic and I'd love to get that too. Can you help me out on this?"
[and then be very appreciative when they hook you up, although you are expecting it. I personally channel my inner "Taylor Swift," who is notorious for always being shocked and gracious when she is praised or given awards]

If they can't do it (for whatever reason), hang up (End the conversation politely "well I have think about it, bye") and try again later.

I was able to get ST for $50.00 with no extension of my contract, which is not up for another 10 months. I kindly pushed for free, but no dice. I'm very happy with this price. I have been a customer since '96.:D

    My experience,

Called Directv because I received a postcard telling me I was not signed up for auto bill pay, which is false, and my HD credit would disappear. This was the perfect reason to also look for ST deals.

First CSR only could offer me a $10 package credit for 12 months and was unable to help me with ST. Took the $10 credit. :)

Second CSR could not help me and there was some confusion on my ST status from last year. She finally transferred to retentions I presume.

Third CSR was able to offer me another 6 months of HD access for free, I will deal with that in 6 months. She also offered me ST Max for a 1 time payment of $147.99 which I gladly accepted. :)

So all in all I received $180 in credits and ST for $147.99 which is a net gain of about $32. Overall a successful call.

As the previous posters have said, normal CSRs don't seem to be able to help.

    06/19/2012 XXXXXXX PLUS HD DVR - 6mosFree HDExist ($10.00) $0.00
    06/19/2012 XXXXXXX NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX 2012 - Charge $147.96 $0.00
    06/19/2012 XXXXXXX PLUS HD DVR - $10/12mosCredit ($10.00) $0.00

I ment to post this on Sunday.

I called to cancel the ST,cuz I like to get it closer to Sept, maybe a get a better deal.Well the CSR tried to talk me into getting it and one time payment and blah blah. So she removed it. onlline there was a charge for $49.95 for ST Max. on the TV it said $39.99.I called right back and got directed to the same CSR.

I'm like wtf really, only one person working on Sunday. during the WWE PPV I called Retention and they credited the account of the 49.95. So the question is,

Has anybody been told that the "whatever you requested to be removed" has been removed but then charged for it?

like the CSR gets mad for you canceling something.

btw I was offered a one time payment of $209 and some change,I paid $160 last yr.

So last year you received about a 50% discount and this year it was only 30%, at least its still a significant amount.:)
