Just got off the phone with retention and got the following:
ST MAX for 4 payments of 36.99 ($152 total)
Plus $30 per month discount off my monthly charge for 12 months (-$360) and $10 per month HBO/Showtime discount for 6 months (-$60)
I still have 1 1/2 on my committment so I felt it was a worth taking.

    Hey Everyone,

I found this on another website. Playstation network is offering NFL Sunday Ticket for $149 with redzone.

I called DTV and asked if they would match, NFL Sunday Ticket Max for $149, I told them I had a PS3 and a PSVita so I could watch on the go anywhere. The retention agent matched.

    RE: Free Redzone Channel

Same story here, and I did go through retentions just to save time. I have had it added as the free special offer for three years now. I am out of contract and I just explain that I am a season ticket holder and am only at home for 8 weeks out out of the year and I can't justify spending the money for the whole package only to see half of the season at home. I also mention that Dish offers it as a stand alone and she said no problem. It seems to get easier every year.

Were you receiving any credits through the first 1/2 year of your commitment?

Is it possible to share programming with a friend if you swap receivers or cards?

That is against your customer agreement and we don't allow that discussion here. Besides, it almost never works.

I have been with Directv since 96 with the ST every year. I called last year about the ST price and got it free after discounts. I still have a $5 credit from last year for a HD dicount of $5/24 months. My commitment upgrade was for new equipment.

New Directv customer here and got my HR34 and 3 H25 installed yesterday.

Since I got NFL ST for free this season do you guys think there would be any chance for me to get NFL ST Max discounted from the $99 price.

Say if I called and spoke with retention department and said I was not happy with how my install went and did not like how the cabling was run inside my house?

Do you think they would give in and give me a discount to add NFL ST Max?

I just made my first call of the season to retentions...They said since I'm on auto-renew, but there haven't been any charges made yet for ST, they can't apply ST credits. Is that totally true or do you think a new call back gets a different answer? If it is true, is it better to cancel auto-renew and sign up like new?

Absolutely not, see my post on page 19. I was set for autorenew and was able to get ST for $100. I would hold off on cancelling autorenew, it's sort of an ace in the hole for negotiating. I basically just asked if there were any discounts available as I was considering cancelling the autorenew and got the discount without any problems.

Last year, I got ST for free.

I called on Friday and negotiated with Customer Retention ST for free, but I agreed to pay $100 for the RZ, Shortcuts, and ToGo Max package. That $100 pretty much offset by the $10 off Sports package and $6.50 off Showtime for 6 months each that I also got. Had to commit for another year in exchange for the deal.

    Works for me.

BTW, I have been on ST auto renew for several years.

Well I called today and said cancel and I think I spoke with a retention CSR.I spoke with her nicely and said "I am a season ticket holder and I travel a lot for my job. Is there anyway you could give me a discount for NFL ST Max".CSR at first said no discount available. I then said "Well I have a friend who upgraded to NFL ST Max and got it for $40 in 4 payments of $10.CSR put me on hold and then countered with a offer of 4 payments of $15 for $60 for NFL ST Max.I accepted the offer. She then tried to enter the discounted rate for NFL ST Max and told me her computer was not allowing her to do it  .I asked her if she could ask her supervisor to override and apply the discount.CSR put me on hold and said her supervisor couldn't approve it because I'm a new customer and I'm already getting NFL ST basic for free  .I told her I would think about adding NFL ST Max for the normal rate.

Bottom line is I think I was trying to get the discount for NFL ST Max to early. I'm going to wait until mid to late August and try again.

On my 3rd call to retentions, I got the basic ST for $99 (half off). I took it because I figure, who knows it might never get better. I offered to pay in full, and he said there was no extra discount. Still want to get credits for free ST though.

Just have to say cancel twice at the prompts then first real person you talk to will be from retention's.

Due to financial situations, we had to really tighten budget. A couple of weeks ago, I reduced my DTV packages down. Since I already have the baseball package, I couldn't cancel it. I canceled all other auto renews including ST. I called up last week, and asked if there was anything they can do for me, since I have been a DTV premier customer since 2001, and have had ST every year. She said no, I insisted on talking with retention. After a long wait and a dropped call. I was able to get a hold of a customer retention. She looked at me account and told me that there is a $0 charge under ST. She said I am already getting it for free. When I go to my account online, under My Programming, My Sports shows the ST under Add more sports. If I go to the Other tab, under services, it shows NFL Sunday Ticket $0.00.

In your opinion, does this mean I get ST for free? Should I call back and talk to retention and verify it? Should I just wait and see?
