I would callback. While I was speaking with the retention CSR yesterday and she tried giving me the discounted rate for NFL ST Max she had already applied the upgrade. While I was on the phone with her I logged into my account online and saw that my monthly bill was already being charged a extra $25 for NFL ST Max.I asked her to remove it and she gave me back the $25 credit.

I called today (retentions) and told them I wanted to cancel the auto-renew for Sunday Ticket. They wanted to know why and I told them it was too expensive and Playstation is offering Sunday Ticket plus RedZone for $150. The CSR said she'd give me ST Max for $150. 4 payments. Sounded good to me. I probably could have haggled more but I'm cool with $150 since my buddy throws me $50 to use the Online part.

from the faq at the linked webpage:
I have to question the proofreader... Two months is cheaper than 1? 4 is cheaper than 3, 2 or 1? The whole season is more than getting 4 months twice? What kind of crap is this?

You need to re-read. The prices listed are per month for the amount of month or months you want to subscribe.

    FYI.

Those are what they offered during the 2011 NFL Season.

No news yet if Sony still has the exclusive deal with Directv to offer it this year on the PS3. Let alone any price plans for this year.

Also right now if you have a PS3 and sign into the PS Store. Do a search for NFL Sunday Ticket and you won't find the app available for download right now. I still have the PS3 NFL Sunday Ticket app installed on my PS3 XMB from last year.

As we get closer to the NFL season starting I'm pretty sure we will hear news from Sony about them offering NFL Sunday Ticket on PSN again this year.

The one Caveat to the PS3 plan is you are signing an agreement saying you do not have access to Directv services.

PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY. In order to download the Application and also access the Service, you must have answered "No" to the question "Are you able to get DIRECTV Satellite Television at your current address?"

I do not know how much of a stickler they would be on this subject? It might be construed as Fraud..

I do not know. I would not want to go up against Directv's legal team to find out. (my legal bills would far exceed the $$$ I saved :lol::lol:)

You need to call back just before the season starts and confirm there is no charge. Once the season starts, you are out of luck. Retention is usually pretty good, but D* is famous (or infamous, I should say) for the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Protect yourself, or you're going to get stuck. If you wait too long to call back, it may be too late. If you call too soon, and don't check back later, you may find you have been given bad information, yet there is nothing they can do to help you.

It seems that DTV is up to its old tricks. The Red Zone channel is not $100 anywhere else but they are trying to rip people off just like they did with the $100 charge for HD that people were upset about.

Stop trying to screw people over already.

I believe the Dish RZ channel is something like $6 per month and that is way less than $100. This is getting old and if they don't give discounts this year I probably will jump ship once my contract is up. Not happy.

Its the only part of the $100 package that most people will use.

I'd be happy to pay $20 for only the red zone channel as I'm sure most people would be but you can't rip people off for more money if you do that.

True, I like the Short Cuts and Highlights more then the Red Zone channel. I don't really need To Go, since I have a Slingbox.

They put them together for a reason - because MOST people don't care about them, its just an easy way to screw people.

They did the exact same thing with HD.

Last I checked, Directv is a publicly traded company....they aren't trying to screw anyone over.....they are trying to make the most profit they can for their shareholders. Switch to Dish if you think you are getting screwed. Directv is in the business of making money. That's life, deal with it.

I don't agree with this. If your a casual fan of the sport or just support your local NFL team then stick with the regular NFL ST basic plan or don't get NFL ST at all.Directv or nobody else is forcing you to sign up for it.

As for upgrading to NFL ST Max there are plenty of people who play fantasy football, travel a lot, or are season ticket holders who aren't always at home to enjoy NFL ST on a weekly basis. Then there is the other group of people who don't subscribe to Directv that want to have NFL ST but for whatever reasons can't switch from their current TV provider or get Directv to enjoy NFL ST.

Point being is if you choose to get NFL ST Max and if you have a family member or a friend who isn't on Directv you could try to make up the additional cost by selling the NFL Sunday Ticket Max features to them so that they can watch the service on a device like a Ipad, Android tablet, or PS3.

That's your opinion. The $100 gets you extras like Internet access and shortcuts as well. There are probably others who will never watch Red Zone but gladly pay extra for Internet games. If all you want is Red Zone then maybe you should switch to Dish or someone else that carries just that channel for cheaper but don't complain about DTVs Sunday Ticket package. that's the beauty of our country and the fact that competition is encouraged. If you don't like one product move to another.

Folks, reselling any part of your Sunday Ticket subscription is against your customer agreement. Let's not discuss that here, even in the hypothetical.

Last week I called and they gave me the 99 for regular deal as well...no contract extension. CSR said I didn't qualify.

When I balked at not doing it, he offered Max for four payments of 30 some odd bucks which added up to 125...plus a 50 dollar one time credit.

I ended up getting Max for 75. More than good enough for me.

I just talked to an offshore CSR who assured me that red zone is in the base nflst package. Is this true?
