I cancelled mine, and i got very little arm twist from the rep.
she did give me a school teacher kind of scold on if i dont like football anymore.
I was like i started enjoying football last year when I dropped out of fantasy and didnt have to watch the board on who was doing what.. I was hating football let alone fantasy because finishing in last sucks.

Im not playing fantasy Fb anymore this will be my 2nd year removed from it.

Wont miss it...I'll be a local CBS & FOX NFLN ESPN regular schmo now. Unless I move out of NY and get satellite elsewhere then I'll revisit that to get my Giants & Jets fix..

I think I've played Fantasy Football 3 times in 11 years. I don't care about doing so either. I thoroughly enjoy cheering who I like, booing who I hate, and interest in who helps my team make the playoffs/keeps teams I hate out. Not being torn between my wr in ff for a team that doesn't exist playing on a real team I need to lose in order to help mine.

I have not called yet for a deal. I am a little skeptical if I will get anything since I did get $300 of a HR34 a few months ago. I am thinking about dropping the MAX part and just going with Sunday Ticket. Not worth $100 for that part of it.

Called today (cancel, cancel), said Id heard about people getting MAX for $100.

Looked at my account and right away offered it for half off (4 mo. $37 ea.)

asked if they could offer credits to offset that and got $10 off for 12/mo, took all of 5 mins probably.

    4 x 37 = 148
    - (10x12) = 120

So 28 bucks for MAX. Although since the credits are delayed the net present value isnt quite that :)

Got a mailing today offering Max for free if I get an NFL extra points credit card and spend $750 by then end of the year. Going to look at the fine print a little bit, but looks like a reasonable deal. Out of contract, or soon to be, not sure.
Mailing also said I was autorenewed at Max after having regular last year. I won't use mobile much, but the boy will like it.

Made my annual Sunday Ticket Russian Roulette call for the year. Said "cancel service" at prompt and didn't immediately get kicked to Retention. CS Rep was nice and offered some minor credits, but wasn't telling me what I wanted to hear. I became firmer in my intent to cancel service and was transferred to Retention immediately. After some back and forth and hemming and hawing...I have my deal.

    Max ST
    4 x $36.99

    Credits
    Months 1-6 $50
    Months 7-12 $30

Damn, I love watching football for free!

I called about the 1 year commitment Sunday Ticket promotion, and unfortunately they didn't have it for me as I have 2 months left on my contract. The CSR offered me the lowered renewal package, but I told him Id wait and see. I want to make sure my finances are a little more secure then what they are right now. Ill probably call back later and see whats going on.

On my first call (regular csr) wasn't offered any discounts at all. Called back (cancel, cancel) and was offered 50% off ST ($99), so I declined. Rep said that I had some credits already on the account so that was the best they could offer. I declined again and then was offered ST for $99 + $50 one time credit. $49 for ST, I'll take it. I would have liked RDZ but don't use the streaming or short cut games. Will call back later to see if they will throw in RDZ.

I would try again on the 1 year commitment for free NFLST. There have been many here in your situation who got the deal, and either got their commitment extended to one year from now, or no additional extension. You should try this again with a retention CSR, if you have not already gone through retention.

It seems like people here give up too easily on that promotion. Unless you get the functional equivalent, IMHO it's worth playing Retention CSR roulette over some period of time until you get the free with 1 yr commitment.

My dad is getting d* activated July 13, assuming with just the base pre-July 19 Sunday Ticket basic. Sounds like I may have to do some early negotiating on his behalf to get the max for free.

Do you have a link for the new best offer ever?

    **Update**

I called and spoke to a CSR not sure if it was a retention's CSR but I did say "Cancel" when I was at the phone prompt.

I spoke to a lady named April and explained to her that I signed up as a new customer back on 6-30 and now found out about the new promo that starts on 7/19 where new customers get NFL ST Max for free.At first she would not budge and gave me the standard answer saying "Well promo offers can change at anytime without notice so unfortunately we can't upgrade you to NFL ST Max for free".

I then brought up that I had called a week ago asking for a discount on upgrading to NFL ST Max and that I was offered a discount then but the previous CSR could not process my order.CSR put me on hold for a couple minutes, CSR came back and said ok I checked and my system is now showing that I can upgrade you to NFL ST Max for free since you just became a new Directv customer less than 2 weeks ago.

While I was on the phone with CSR I logged into my account online and went into the "Recent Changes" tab and saw the upgrade was indeed applied without being charged.

Received this NFL ST postcard in the mail, which is basically letting you know its cheaper this year and a reminder about auto renewal. No big promotion, unless you apply for the NFL Extra Points credit card, then you get free NFL ST Max.

Well I called back today and talked with customer retention......She sees no note in the computer that they gave me Sunday Ticket. She refused to honor what the other lady had promised me 3 times. I even asked her to make notes in the computer for when just in case this scenario happens. Well another CSR with another broken promise. Without ST, what is the point of having loyalty with DTV since 2001, premiere package and almost every sports package since. Apparently NOTHING.

called yesterday and got into retention department. Mentioned my friends were getting a $100 rate for ST. She said she would look inot what was available and metioned she thought there was a free offer out there. The free offer never came up but the 50% (149) did. She said since she mentioned the free one that she would just credit me back the 149 as a general retention credit. So I am getting ST+Max for $0 this year and no contract extension. Works for me ! I was ready to sign up at the $150 . She was real chatty on the phone and I did mention that I also have FIOS TV in the house (I really do on 1 tv - was free to add TV to my phone/internet bundle) and she kept trying to offer me other programming that I really didnt want and kept asking about FIOS vs DirectTV even though I never played that card and only brought it up AFTER I go the $0 ST. I am still working on a free Showtime credit and $20 per month credit also

10+ year with D*, no contract, 8 recievers and avg bill between 100-125 depending on what programming I subscribe to
