I knew that, thanks though. I assumed it would know by my login what im already subscribed to.
It's part of a routine graphics package. You're seeing the same RedZone feed as every other DirecTV sub.
Where did you read/hear that?New customers,maybe?
You do know he's talking about FIOS when he says Ultimate Package, right?
Thanks.Thought he was talking Direct.
Yeah, he quoted it in his response, just wanted to make sure everyone was clear it was in regards to FIOS.
I'm coming towards the end of my 2-year contract (up in January). I've never had ST before. I figured I'd call in and see what I could get. I had decided that if need be I'd bite the bullet and get the base ST package even if I had to pay full price.
I went straight to retentions and lamented the fact that as I was coming to the end of my contract, with discounts progressively dropping off the account my bill was going up and up and I didn't know what I'd do come January. I also mentioned the $149 PS3 ST price (not sure if it's still valid or not, but figured it couldn't hurt).
Bottom line: I got ST base for $149, and 12 months of $15 credits. No contract extension.
Anyone order after week 1 last year? Discounts still available since we only have 16 weeks left?:hurah::hurah:
I'm coming to my second year of DirecTV. I had free NFL-ST last year as a new subscriber. I had already been billed my first installment for the auto renewal when I called up a couple weeks ago.
I asked them to cancel the auto-billing of NFL-ST as I was thinking about saving money this year. Did not go through to retentions, was immediately offered the MAX package for $199. When I said "I really appreciate you being so nice but I would really like to save more", the operator put me on hold and came back with:
- 3 months free whole home ($3.25/month savings)
- 6 months HBO/Cin/Sports discount ($10.62/month savings)
- 6 months choice ultimate discount ($10.63/month savings)
I think that gave me NFL-ST Max for $54. I thought that was a great deal.
Here's what I got on September 13th...
FREE Sunday Ticket Base Package...$199 value with one year commitment.
Sunday Ticket Max Upgrade for $100 (4 payments of $25) Includes Red Zone and extras...
One time $50 CREDIT.
End price for Sunday Ticket: $50
I'm VERY HAPPY!!!
HR34 was installed yesterday, so free HR34, free install, free basic ST, $100 ST Max, -$120 credits for free HD makes me feel like I got everything for -$20. Well, at least that is how I explained it to my wife.
Background: I currently have 1 HR20-700 and 3 SD receivers. I have HD Choice Extra with no premium channels and have be off contract since 2009.
Just got off the phone with retention.
I started with a normal CSR who could not offer me a flat deal on NFLST. She only offered a $10 monthly credit off of my bill for 12 months...
She then transferred me to retention and they offered the following (after haggling):
Free NFLST (no Max since I don't need it) with 1 year agreement
Free additional HDDVR with $49 installation fee (and 2 year agreement) for my bedroom
$15 monthly credit
6 months free Starz
12 months free Showtime
Free Home Cinema Connection Kit
Free HD Access
Free Whole Home
Not as good as some of you received, but excellent for my needs and I'm happy with these results.
"Cancel--Cancel-- Sunday Ticket, what ya got?" Half off deal.. 149.00 for Max, 99.00 for Regular.. "Give me the $99 regular".. Ok, blah blah blah, is there anything else I can go for ya today? "Nope, that's it! Thanks and have a good day"...
I called retention and they couldn't even offer me a discount on Sunday Ticket. Nothing. Terrible customer service. They lost a longtime, loyal customer.
Call back until you get something you're happy with.. It's CSR roulette. You never know what you'll get.
Sometimes that can be the case but more often then not it's just that your not eligible for it, you can't compare your directv to someone elses things like offers are based upon many different factors, just because someone gets an offer doesn't mean you can
directv called me a couple of weeks ago and offered me sunday ticket max for free, an upgade to choice ultimate, free movie channels for three months for five dollars with a one year contract. i took that in a heartbeat.
I'm a 5 year sub with 2 referrals this year and I got 12 months free HD, those are the only discounts I have gotten. I've called in at least half a dozen times since the season started and have not gotten them to give standalone RedZone channel or budge off ST Max for $300. I've got no intention of leaving and that has never come up in conversation but I'd love to know how some people get these love ass deals. I'm beginning to think most of them are trolling and don't get **** but like to say they get the world.
