Sweet deal. Congrats. :righton:
I have called 3 times before today to try to get a deal on Sunday Ticket, all I was offered before was Sunday Ticket Max 1/2 off, well today they offered me Sunday Ticket for free and I asked for free Redzone channel and got that too, I had to agree to a 1 year commitment but that doesnt bother me, This is the first time I have ever been offered Sunday Ticket for free, usually I pay half price for it, very happy DTV customer! Been with them since they had NFL Sunday Ticket, 1995?
red zone comes with sunday ticket max. at least, it did last year.
after a second call, i ended up with $15 off of premiere for a year; $10 off of dvr for a year; and sunday ticket max for $40 instead of $70.
max is $15 more a month times 5 for $75. i got it for 2 months at $20 a month or about half price. it might be a $70 upgrade for early renewal.
I don't trust them not to enroll me in Sunday Ticket again despite assuring me late last year it would not renew after my trial freebie ran out. I'm still in my first year as a customer, and haven't been a customer at the beginning of the NFL season yet.
The Redzone Channel does not come with the regular Sunday Ticket (Not Max) thats why I asked for it, and got it for free.
If anyone is a gamer the Amazon exclusive Madden 25 Anniversary deal is pretty sweet. Pay the extra $40 for the Anniversary edition and you are getting max for $35 cheaper instead of upgrading to Max for $75 with DTV. I just have the standard NFL ticket so this works out great for me.
If I have DirecTV service and standard NFL Sunday Ticket, will this give me access on computer, tablet, and mobile devices?
Yes, each Anniversary Edition includes a unique code that entitles a purchaser to NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet, and mobile devices. This includes the Redzone channel.
I guess the only downfall is that you do not get the RZ channel through your DTV box.
Made my annual call to DirecTV (Sunday Ticket renewal time). Been a customer since 2003, and an Sunday Ticket subscriber every year since then. Called up Customer Retentions -- YOU MUST GET TO RETENTIONS. Also, best to call during business day hours. Spoke with very pleasant woman on the phone. Gave her the whole spiel about tough economic times, don't think I can afford ticket, need help with bill, whatever. My commitment ends end in September (almost 3 more months). After a long, engaging discussion this is what she offered me:
1) Free Sunday Ticket plus Max for the year.
2) Free $20 off per month for next 12 months (this involves adding an extra 1-year commitment, so 12 months - 3 mos I owe = extra 9 months).
3) Free $10 of month for HD (mine expired)
4) I was already getting $5 off a month for autobill (and get another $5 off month for bundle).
5) Free Starz/Cinemax for 3 months.
All for extending my commitment through next July (9 mos after my original commitment ended in September).
NOW, she did offer me a GENIE in place for the $20 off per month for 12 months. It would've been a total $150 credit, $100 for the lease and $49 for the installation. This required a 2 year commitment. But after we talked, and I discussed that I already have 2 dvrs and whole home DVR, we both felt the $20/mos credit was worth it over the Genie, since it really didn't add more than I had. But for those wanting a Genie, should be no reason why you can't get it free with 2 years, $10 off for HD, and Free Sunday Ticket Max for the year. She did not give me a hassle and handed it all over like Halloween candy. Good luck. Be pleasant, engaging, and patient, and you should get a good deal. If the first call doesn't work, call back again. Be persistent. I'd love to see everyone on this board get a deal they are happy with -- we all work hard for our money and ever little dollar counts!
All the best.
last night i got a hd dvr for free online,my contract just expired, then tonight I called in and got Sunday ticket with redzone free and $20.00 off my bill for 12 months and $15.00 off my bill for 15 months along with $60.00 off extra innings and 2 for 1hbo/max and starz/showtime and free hd,$5 a month off for premier i already had.I have a new 2 year agreement. I have never had a company give me so much free stuff.been with D* since 2005 and am on auto pay they kept mentioning that.the loyalty thing.
sounds like the same lady i talked to, she was digging for discounts handed them right over.
This is becoming a joke. I called last week because we sold our house and had to move. #1 when we signed up they knew my house was forsale, made a note of it, so after 11 months I call. Now there is nothing they could do. So the guy said he could get me 50 dollars and free sunday ticket and I was like ok that works. Then said sorry the best he could do was 6 payments of 29.99. I was like well thats not really saving me much (45 bucks). After fighting about it, I accepted.
Just got my bill. He gave me the 50 dollar credit, and signed me up for protection plan (when I was never told this), and now im being charged 5 more bucks a month (six months) for sunday ticket.
So I call, get retention. Explain situation, and she said the 50 dollars was thrown in to get the discount. She said I misheard, and it was more less in my head because there is no such thing as a 29.99 x6 months. Only 37.99 and 44.99. So I canceled. She said there was going to be an early cancelation fee for that. I said WHAT!!!!!!! the season hasnt started. She was like well hold on, ok your right. Should I call back and just sit this one out? I can pre-order Madden for PS3 and get Sunday Ticket for free with the mobile maybe that would be better than playing games with this company. Never mind, that deal excludes me.
Call back and try again, she didn't sound very pleasant.
They're not going to wash your car once a week? You should call back.
It's that time of year again.
Bottom line for my call was ST Max for $50.00 total. Already had 2 $10.00 24 month credits, so this was about all they could offer. Works for me, but a bit more than I paid last year.
No interest in a Genie for me however, so I didn't try that route.
1. Call 1. Male CSR. First offer: $37.49/mo for 6 months for NFLST. Second offer: $29.99/mo for 6 months. I declined. Total phone time for Call 1: 5 minutes.
2. Call 2. Female CSR with Retention Department (took frontline CSR 5 minutes to transfer me; I requested Retention Dept this call). Free NFLST + RedZone Channel. Took about 6 additional minutes. Total phone time for Call 2: 12 minutes.
So I invested 17 minutes of my time and got NFLST + RedZone Channel for free .... for the 3rd year in a row. Love it. Wasn't sure if it was going to fly this year, as I already had received a free Genie in February. Should have pressed my luck and asked for GenieGo on this call, lol.
I did. Called back after my deal and since I am eligible for a free upgrade, I just asked for the GenieGo instead. Set it up yesterday. Seems to be working fine so far.
was that free upgrade because you have protection plan? i have a free upgrade but i don't really need anything. then i thought of geniego. and was wondering if i could get that as my upgrade. question is, did you have to extend your contract?
Depends on how you look at it. Yes I do have the PP but my account says I am not eligible until September but online and when I call they say I can have one now. I have a Genie already and just said that. I can't have another Genie and I have 17 tuners so I dont need another HD DVR on the account. They graciously offered to upgrade my R22 to a HD DVR for me for free. I said well yes it is my only SD DVR but it has HD capabiliteis, its owned by me and I am in a MPEG 4 only market where if it dies I should either get another R22 or an HD DVR that would be owned still. No reason to upgrade the R22 to a HD DVR for free form them just to trigger a new 2 year agreement and it be leased.
That being said I just asked if I could get a GenieGo instead as that would actually do me some good. They offered it for free if I paid the shipping which was $19.95 I think. That amount was added to my account and I was good to go.
so no contract extension?
