    Thanks for the feedback.

    Yes, I realize it's a pretty good deal, but I was hoping for a one time instant savings. The good news, it's in my notes, so I can still take the offer, which I most likely will.

    Also, I don't really mind another 2 year committment as our local cable, Time Warner, sucks and I've read less than stellar things about U-Verse. As long as DirecTV keeps Sunday Ticket, I'm likely to be loyal. The last time I looked into WWDVR, I was quoted over $300, so I feel like I really made out today.

    And $15 off for 1.5 years and $20 off for 6 months is $390 total. Why did he not accept either of those? Unless those are two different deal?

    :confused:

    If I were you, I'd be calling right now to get those credits and then you'll really make out today.

    Peachtree...
    Mrs. Fluffybear called this morning after a sales person from AT&T stopped by pushing U-Verse. DirecTV offered her the following discounts:

    $10.00 credit for 2 years
    $ 5.00 credit for 2 years
    $ 5.00 credit for 2 years
    Free Showtime for 1 year
    Free Redzone channel for 1 year

    FYI, Mrs. Fluffybear said she did not make any threats to cancel nor did she speak with someone in retention.

    Just called and spoke to a nice young man in retention. Told him I wanted to keep the ticket but didn't want to pay full price of others we not. He placed me on hold an after several minutes he came back with $20 off for 12 months ($240) total. He also stated the to-go was free and would also auto renew at no charge.

    I'd keep Mrs. Fluffybear around.....at least for 2 years so she can call again when the discounts expire.

    :lol:

    I was just offered 33% off the season if I signed up for it. I graciously declined.

    So I called and tried again - this time with success!!

    I did the cancel/cancel routine and spoke to retentions & mentioned the ads touting free ST. She said they had just been authorized to sell ST since there would definitely be a season (she must have some inside info!). She proceeded to check my account and said I've been a very good, long time customer and she would see what she could do.

    After some checking, she said she could offer me FREE ST! :jump3:

    She said the bill will read:

    1 time charge: $334.95
    1 time credit: $334.95

    I did not have to think twice about taking this! :)

    Third time's the charm! First time I called I was offered a credit of $120 ($20 x 6 mos). Second time I called I was offered a credit of $150 if I paid in full then. Called just now and was initially offered the same deal as the second time. When I mentioned I had heard online of others getting more substantial deals, he sweetened it to $200. When I asked about To Go, he threw that in as well, so I took it. Not quite as good as others have been getting, but good enough for me. Makes ST less than $8 a week! I can handle that.

    That's somewhat similar to me although it was just one try for me. I was calling first to swap out my 2-for-1 SHO/STZ that expired for a 2-for-1 HBO/MAX 3mo deal.

    After that was taken care of, I asked about ST. I offered to do the lump-sum up-front if they had a deal for me. First he offered the $20 off/6 mo deal. I said don't bother....leave it alone. I brought up the RZC-only deal that some for whatever reason are getting, but that was no dice. Then he asked me what it would take....I said $200 off....he offered 50% off ($167), so I went ahead and took that.

    Per CNN......The NFL owners approved a 10-year revenue sharing deal with the players. Now it's up to the players to agree.

    when you call in, do not let them put a notation on your account they made an offer to you (that you didn't like). I did that a couple of nights ago and called back just now, and they would not budge off the original offer of:

    Either 1), take $140 off the regular price or 2) take $20 off each installment making it $33.99 for 6 months.

    Basically saving $140....now granted that is not a bad savings but I really thought they may go better....

    I am gonna give it a couple of days and see what happens....

    You guys are lucky who are getting the great deals....

    That is part of the reason why I wouldnt never take a credit deal that lasted 2 years. They do say things like that. We cant apply anymore credits because you are already getting credits. I save mine up for ST and I would not take any offer that runs credits for 2 years.

    Well my credits were notated on my account. Should I be worried they might magically dissappear when I call back to activate them on August 4th? I did this for financial purposes...

    Just called. Said cancel. I told them I was calling about ST for free. CSR stated it was for new customer but since I have been with them 12years the offered 334 with a 250 credit and to go for free. Accepted and happy.

    Since I was already getting a Sports Pack credit, I was able to get a full month's service credit and To-Go for free. Not the best deal, but not the worst either.
