Well its official - DTV SuperFan $99 does NOT show all the HD games .

They cherry pick games out - this week it was Texans / Dolphins

Who will it be next week ?

Better hope the dtv hd censor likes your team or it may not make the HD cut.

What did I pay $99 for ? These games are aired in HD to begin with ... if they are charging me $99 for BANDWIDTH of their satellite - fine... then show the damn game! I bet they would never pull a New York game of the schedule. this is total BS

These games are only a few hours - they can pull some PPV channels to make room for the games that they charged $99 extra for !

Did they ever claim you would receive ALL of the HD games? No, I believe all they promise is you will receive "up to" a certain number of HD games. They've got to account for possible HD Baseball playoffs this week on TNTHD which they've taken down in the past to provide more bandwidth for NFL ST.

I'm sure they use the market size/demand of the specific teams to determine which HD games not to carry. I mean, it is a couple of pretty horrible franchises, lol.

Well then they should charge those ' high market ' areas more since their teams will not be pulled.

I'm pretty sure that was the claim. Don't they say up to 12 games a week in HD? That should make enough space to show the Dolphins vs Texans. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay the $99 or I'd be a little more upset.

The only games that they dont show in HD are the CBS games that are not in HD. CBS still leaves 3 or 4 games in SD only and that is a decision that Les Moonves, CBS President, made last year.

Appears that this is no long correct. The Dolphins@Texans game is being produced in HD and is available via OTA where shown, I'm getting it in HD on KEYE-DT Austin.

I've never seen DirecTV not carry a game in HD other then due to technical issues (such as one year I think a blizzard in Denver forced that game to be SD). Having said that, the Texans/Dolphins game was scheduled to be in HD right up to kickoff and something changed. So for whatever reason DirecTV wasn't able to get the HD feed from CBS.

Here's what might be the issue. What channel does D* shut down on Sunday's when they need bandwidth, TNT-HD. Now if the Cubbie's hadn't tanked they were supposed to be playing game 4 of the series this afternoon on TNT-HD. Maybe D* felt they'd take less heat not doing this one NFL HD game vs. shutting off the lovable Cubbies?

I disagree that this was an issue where dtv was not able to get the feed as the "look-ins" and highlights of the game on the red zone channel were in hd.

Directv pulled the game days ago according to their schedule.... I figured CBS pulled it but cbs did not .. they aired it in hd - dtv pulled it..... whether they needid it for tnt-hd for a baseball game is irrelevant - like I said before they can pull some PPV or shopping networks..... they asked for an extra $99 to see games in HD because the extra bandwidth burdens - we paid it..... now they play games with the actual football schedule by cherry picking games they feel are not worth watching ... who were they to decide that for me ? I watch games that are close and enjoyable no matter who is playing and that game came all the way down to the wire with a game winning 57 yard field goal.... but a bunch of paid superfan subscribers missed it in hd because some Jet fan in the control room decided for him what he will watch..... NOT COOL.

They could have made room for the game - they only last 3 hours by pulling some ppv bandwidth or ppv porn channels. I think playboy tv or Spice could have gone dark for 3 lousy hours.

Here is the schedule for CBS for this week and next week (according to cbs.sportsline.com).

Yet FOX somehow shows 100% of their games in HD, WHY? How can the NFL Allow this? I hate CBS, but thats for political reasons, I think they should be in violation of their contract or something...give the NFL back to NBC or to ABC

Well - what game will get the dreaded dtv ' bump ' next week ?

Will it be the Dolphins , Raiders , Tampa ?

I know who it will not be ... (any team from New York) .....

SuperFan for an extra $99 - those ads sure imply your gonna see the game in hd if its being aired in hd.... but now I really do not know....

I guess we should just hope whoever is controlling the SuperFan schedule doesnt hate your team or its lights out for that hd showing..... but at least the infomercial channels will not be disrupted or any ppv channels or any ppv porn channels see any outages...

I always trusted SuperFan to air all the games in HD that were available to it... but now for the first time it has revealed its darkside... better hope your favorite out of market team is ' good enough ' for dtv strict superfan standards....

D* is playing it fast and loose with Superfan this season. I called to express my unhappiness last week when the beginning of the late game I wanted to see (of my out of market team, the sole reason I subscribe to ST) was not shown (in HD) because D* is showing the late Superfan games on the same channels as the early games (which they continue to do). If you want to watch the wrong game (the start of late games, and now apparently Texans/Dolphins games) on Superfan this season, you are apparently SOL as far as D* is concerned.

D* should have advertised Superfan with a clear disclaimer that D* may at its sole discretion elect not too show all available HD games or not show late games in their entirety due to lack of bandwidth. Since they didn't include a clear disclaimer, I think Superfan sales and marketing (along with D*'s practice this season of not showing all (and all of) available HD games) violates at least California's consumer protection laws.

Disclaimer: The above is for discussion purposes only and should not be construed as a legal opinion or legal advice.

jhillestad, you are clearly a very angry person, over a very minor issue. Continuing to rant here doesn't really do anything to improve your situation, you're better off contacting D* with 23918031231 messages than the people on these forums. You're really over dramatizing the whole issue, as the ads and the SuperFan package itself never promise, nor even imply, you will receive every HD game. They say you will get "up to" a certain number, meaning you can get any number less than that also.

The $99 we all pay for SuperFan is not for "paying the bills on extra bandwidth", it's for the purchase of an additional product, in this case HD games and interactive features, along with the RZC and Game Mix.

I find it pretty laughable you actually think they base the decision on what game not to air on if the guy "hates your team". What else would you suggest they use to base the decision on, besides market share/demand? Did you want them to personally call every NFL ST subscriber and do a popular vote poll?

Frankly, the most exciting thing you missed in that game was Trent Green getting completely destroyed by the Texans. And you don't need to see that in HD :)

Nice!! Destroyed? How bout hospitalized!! There is nothing I hate more than someone celebrating a player's injury. The guy left on a strecher, shows a lot of class to think that's exciting!
