Fox does not show every game in HD ,in bye weeks they can, but when there is a full slate of games they show one game in SD. D* does not make the decisions about which games are shown in HD the networks do. CBS can show a game nationally in HD and a lot of their local stations carry it in SD. It can get crazy trying to figure out how or why. I have heard that CBS in particular doesn't have the capacity to send any more than 5 games to D*even if they broadcast more than that. They do look at market share and the popularity of the teams involved. Hopefully next year we can watch them all.

I love Sunday Ticket, Superfan, and Supercast. Just being able to see all the games is "Something Wonderful"

I'm thankful to be able to see the games in " ANY-D" though I do prefer HD.

Keep up the good work DTV -

Dolphins in SD next week too....

I tend to disagree with this. I'm sick of hearing about TNT, and now it's baseball! We pay for a product, and we deserve to get what we pay for, no matter how bad you think a team sucks! We all have a right to watch our favorite team, that's what we pay for! If the game is broadcast in HD, show it that way!

As a Jets fan who's on his third season with superfan, there have been several Jets games not shown in HD the last two years. Luckily, there have been none this year, but there are about 2 more CBS HD games per week this year. It sucks, but it's not the end of the world.

As for your comment on the Jets being as crappy as the Dolphins, I have one thing to say, 31-28!

Sunday Ticket did show all the games yesterday. So everyone did get their out of market games. Unfortunately, D* only has limited MPEG-2 bandwidth. So, in the first 5 weeks of the season we missed one game in HD (maybe there were others in the earlier weeks but I don't remember). I believe they are doing there best in trying to serve ALL their customers given the limitations. Would you have wanted them to make SF MPEG-4 forcing everyone to get a new dish and box before the season started?

BTW I would call as most of us got SF for free.

Lets hope the recent executive management changes at D* are intended to address these issues. The communication to the customer base is woeful and the management of the sports packages horrendus. For those who like the Superfan features - great! I dislike having to pay to see the one team I watch in HD - sometimes. I think the HD broadcasts should be included in the HD access fee.Lets all wish the new executives well and hope they are hearing us.

This discussion is based on the SUPERFAN package not the general sunday ticket package. Most of us PAID for SuperFan because we are re-subscribed to sunday ticket w/SuperFan - you got it free as a promo you WONT next season.

Did you not read the entire thread before posting that mpeg2 bandwidth issue ? Like I said before they can dump some ppv or porn channels for 3 lousy hours.

Your behaving exactly like dtv would hope...... maybe next week they wont air a game you want to see in hd and we'll see your attitude change... They charge $99 for superfan for HD access to the games.... Now they are deciding for me which game(s) I can see in HD .

This discussion is not about teams not in HD its about games that are actually being aired in HD that dtv is not passing on to its SuperFan subscribers. There are games every week that are not in hd because cbs or fox did not air them in hd because they do not have enough equipment.. this is not dtv fault. So not every team or game will get hd love... but when the game is in hd and is being held back by dtv after paying the $99 toll charge for the hd access to the signal is what this discussion is about.

This will never happen to the Jets or Giants so you never have to worry... smaller markets like Cleveland , Arizona , New Orleans , etc... now have to woory about some clown at dtv pulling the plug on the hd broadcast. I guess their $99 is not as important as a new yorkers $99 ....

You apparently did not read your entire post. You make the statement twice that ST is for out of market games. No reference there for HD. We are getting what we paid (or not paid for) with SF. They never promised ALL games in HD just "over 180 HD" games for the season. See the web site. It also includes short cuts, mix channel and the HD Red Zone channel. They are absolutely giving you what you paid for.

Really ? I paid $99 extra for HD games. The HD game was available THEY (DTV) pulled it from the lineup... how exactly did I get what I paid for ? Like I have said before they will only do this to smaller market teams so who cares right ?

Boy, some of you guys are D*TV dream customers. When we have the priviledge of having to pay an additional $99 over the cost of ST just to get the games in HD (they used to be provided FREE, with ST and HD access BTW), they should be showing all of the games that are available. Period. I agree that they should be cutting PPV channels, not ST/SF games.

It has nothing to do with being "dream" customers. It has everything to do with being able to read. Check the website or any SF advertisement ever published and they state you will recieve some, most, or over 180 games in hd. If they were going to show all the games in hd they would say so, just like they do with the supercast ads.

As to the complaint about them choosing small market and poor performing teams as the ones left out......welcome to the real world.

Nice thread. As a Superfan customer, I tend to agree with the rants about which game is pulled. All games that are produced should be on. You can make the case well that is not what is on the web sight or what was promised. An equally strong case can be made to do "The right thing". When someone pays his hundred (or even has been given it gratis due to whatever) he expects a service. To be told well yes your team is in HD but we can't show it because your market is not big enough would come with a certain level of frustration. DirectV should do the right thing with its flagship subscription and be ahead of the curve. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah, I can't believe people are defending D* on this issue. They promised us HD for a game, then they didn't deliver. End of Story.

I suspect there are DTV employees that are trolling these forums and are the main ones defending anything that is said against them... there are a few users that come to mind (read full thread) they will instantly come to the defense of dtv by pointing out some mice type print in an ad or web site but will never mention what is implied or represented..... every ad has some mice type not promising anything.... but that was not the main issue of the thread but it sure got turned that way....

out of market means out of market and superfan means pay extra for HD and red zone...

then all of a sudden the great defenders come forward with ... they never promised you anything.....

SuperFan is a premium service that got diluted by DTV this weekend.... I dont care what mice type caveat they stick on the ad or website....

jhillestad: I agree with you completely man. I am a Texans fan and can understand the frustration. We have had to endure 2 crappy SD games so far and it is galling that the game is broadcast in HD and D* all of a sudden decides not to air it. It is bull****. You bet your ass they wouldn't do it to the ****ing New York teams even if they were 0 for the century.

Continue to fight the good fight. F all those making snide comments about your team. You have every ****ing right to see your team in HD considering all of you have paid for it.

Finally, Miami and Houston are huge ****ing cities in their own right. Houston is a top 10 DMA and Miami is 16. There are a lot of people from both cities.

I can gurantee you I don't work for D* and I understand why you're pissed. However, Superfan never guranteed they would show every HD game. Does it suck? For sure. Should they show every HD game where an HD game exists? For sure. So while it sucks and SD ST games are nearly unwatchable there isn't anything legally you can do. The best recourse to to call D* and complain and try to get an answer as to why.

Was this the first time all year an HD source wasn't shown in HD with SF?

They can fix somewhat fix the problem if they mirrored the superfan games in mpeg4 on D10, That would fix people with H20/HR20 with the newer dishes. Then they can stack it on the same channel # as the SD versions like they are doing for the new HD channels.
