Can somebody do a poll about what teams have had SD this year? I would love to see the pattern of favoritism to big markets vs. little markets and compare it to the claim that the best games get the HD.

    Jacksonville (3-1) 2
    Texans (2-2) 2
    Cleveland (2-3) 3

Big Markets are always favored and will continue to be. Why? Advertisers. More people see ads in a Large Market than in smaller markets. A no-brainer.

Why are the Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox always on TV in Primetime? Not necessarily because they are good teams, but it's a huge market. Fans of these teams all over the country.

I get that completely. My argument is not about primetime or marketing. My argument is about HD vs. SD. An ad is an ad and it does not matter if it is in HD or SD.

It seems, I guess I could be wrong, but it seems like I was told that the best games would be in HD. It seems like the biggest markets will be in HD and that really is the bottom line.

You made an incorrect assumption because on your own ignorance and lack of willingness to read. How is this D* fault?

I already made my point and it wasn't about what you get with SF or NFLST.. It was about innacurate guide data and innacurate emails from D* and the effect it has on setting up recordings in advance. When I get home and start to watch what I was told would be there and there is nothing there I get pissed.. I 'Lease' a DVR and 'Pay' for DVR service + NFLST + SF. That's a good bit of jack! I would like something for it!

On a side note.. How many folks are getting sick of having to watch SD after watching HD!!! Funny Huh! This could add to D*'s headaches!!

And how long have you worked for DTV ?

Yep its all my fault - how dare I think that Superfan would deliver what it said..... not what the mice type says..... too bad for me.....

You know come to think of it DTV never really promised me a color picture either... so I guess I should be grateful they do not show it in black and white ....

The bottom line is....the title of this thread is "SuperFan does NOT show all the HD games"

Whether we like it or not (that is a different story)....did D* ever promise ALL HD games? No...so, why is this such a shock? They did in fact say 180+ right?

If you had done your research and made a few clicks...you would see this....

I would like every HD game to be broadcast but we weren't promised that so why complain about it?

D* is not required to show every game in HD but they should not mislead us. They had the Miami-Houston game listed on their website in HD up until the day before the game. Then they dropped it to cater to the subs that won't give up their tivo boxes. Our football got bumped for baseball on ch. 95. I could watch the baseball just fine on ch. 247. It's about time they give priority to subs that have upgraded to the HR20 and paid lots more $$$.

They keep listing a game on ch. 726 and then renege on using that channel. Well guess what. They have the most important game of the year New England-Dallas scheduled for ch. 726 this week. Watch out for last minute changes again this week. Directv quit jacking around my superfan. Thats the only reason I don't use Verizon. Use your new satellite if you have to. Duh.

Some of you guys are just UNBELIEVABLE. The game was available in HD. It was on their schedule as being shown in HD, even on Sunday. It should have been there. ST+SF costs ~$330. For that much money, all of the available HD games should be shown.

This has nothing to do with legal or fine print. It's what we should expect as customers paying a pretty hefty chunk of change. Honestly, I really don't get where some of you are coming from. Some of you act like we owe D*TV something for providing such great content....WRONG. We paid a hefty programming fee and should get what is available. Period.

I guess some of us feel that getting this upset over one game, or even a few games, is not really worth it.

If the game is sent to their satellite in HD they pass it on to their customers in HD. They do not "pull" games. It's all about the networks' capacity. Next year it will not be a problem because the NFL has an agreement with the networks to have every game in HD. Also they will be on the new Sat and the 4:00 EST games will have their own channel.

I 100% agree with you. The problem is some people around here don't like you bashing D*. You are a hater. Those that don't care about your point either have too much money to blow or it doesn't affect them.

Yes, D* is living up to their contractual obligation and never said ALL games would be in HD. Great...happy for them. It comes down to the premise. For that price, you should get whatever HD games the networks broadcast. Some would argue further that why should you have to pay $99 just to get games in HD.

Regardless, they screw you any way you look at it. Its your option to buy it and since this is D* bread and butter with no other provider able to carry all the NFL games, they will stick it to you however they can. Right now they got a 12 foot pole up every SF subscriber.

Nothing we can do about it but complain....good luck with that.

Are you mad at D* or mad that the Fins suck?

It's ONE game. D* has their issues. You'll still get over 180+ games in HD (Like the agreement says).

Do i work for D*? Hell no. I just get tired of the bitching.

I'm a chiefs fan and didn't get my game in HD, am I demanding a refund? No.

What I believe the original poster is trying to convey is that a game that was broadcast in HD, scheduled to be aired as part of SuperFan, was indeed pulled out of the lineup by D* at the last minute.

Originally, Dolphins-Texans was to air on Channel 719 and Browns-Patriots on Channel 726. Within 24 hours of game time, the Browns-Patriots are moved to 719 and Dolphins-Texans are kicked to the curb. Someone mentioned the reason for this was to air a mid-afternoon baseball game on TBS for those who did not have mpeg-4 capabilities.

So, for this past Sunday, I have to disagree with you: D* did indeed yank a previously advertised HD game out of its lineup despite the network broadcasting it in HD.

This may have been mentioned several hundred posts ago so forgive me for asking but ...

Is there a reason that this did not already happen? Many (if not all) of the new HD channels have the same number as their SD counterparts. That tells me that it could have been done for Sunday Ticket while leaving 719-727 open for those without mpeg-4.

Again, a reason may have already been mentioned; I just don't have the time to go sifting through old threads. :p

Anyone try calling for at least a pro-rated refund of the Superfan package for the Dolphins game for it not being in HD? The case is particularly strong given that Directv actually had it listed as being in HD all week. This week's game will not be in HD, but it is because CBS is not producing an HD telecast.

CBS produced the game in HD, it was even on RZC in HD and it was yanked at the last miniute. That is the point.

Yes, the problem is some people are coming in assuming that we are complaining about not all of the games being provided in HD BY THE NETWORK, when that is not the case. The complaint is in regards to D*TV not showing an advertised game. This didn't personally effect me last Sunday, but being a Lions fan, it very well might in future games. ST+SF = nearly $20/Sunday.... for that much money, I better be able to see the game I want to see, fine print be damned.

Yeah, it was pulled at the last minute. But could it be that CBS is at fault here and not DTV? Could it be that CBS (for some unknown reason) only made the HD broadcast available to the HOU-MIA markets? The reason I say this is that out here in SoCal, as soon as the JAX-KC ended, they switched to the MIA-HOU game. But the feed was not in HD. I had to turn to the RZC to watch the end of that game in HD.

    But hey, who knows, right?
