Hello, I had 2 HR22 running perfect until recently having to get one replaced. I received the replacement which is an HR24/500. However upon setting it up, I am unable to select a SWM type dish because its not a choice that’s available thus preventing me from also selecting a SWM switch. These connected issues are preventing both tuners to work.
Has anyone ever had this issue? Is this something that can be fixed remotely or does the receiver need replacing?

    thanks

Do you have a swm type lnb and a power inserter connected in line with the HR24? If so the swm lnb should be automatically detected.

I do. I have it fed through a splitter just as the HR22. I even connected directly to the PI. I am not getting the option of selecting a SWM type dish in the configuration settings. I am only getting Slimline and 18” options to select from.
    Thanks for replying

Do you have the cable from the dish connected to the correct port on the back of the HR24? It should be the one marked swm.

It’s been a while. Are are thinking the HR24 uses an updated LNB? Thanks for your help

As long as it's a swm lnb it shouldn't matter.

thanks, that’s what I figured especially with the other HR22 working perfect. Could it be something with the receiver or DTV directly?

If you power up a receiver without a coax connected you can go to the setup menu and select whatever you want. Then you can plug in the coax.

thanks just read it. I’ll give it a shot. I believe I tried that however as soon as I reconnect the coax it revert to the old setting of a non SWM dish. Ill give it another shot.

Sorry, there are 2 points for connection. I have the cable connected to the outer port and not Sat 2

just tried and yes I am able to access the settings however there are only 4 options, SL3, SL5, 18” & 18” 3 LNB. No Slimline SWM. So only a single tuner is working. Thanks

What’s also interesting is, the switch type being displayed is SWM 8 CH which I don’t have. Both of my HR22 worked off the existing splitter with the switch type being SWM in the past. I don’t want to interfere with the settings of the working receive4 HR22.

What is the firmware version listed on the info screen? I suspect your receiver may have a very old firmware version.

Just go ahead and select the SWM 8 CH, the receiver doesn't actually care about the details all that really matters is SWM vs non SWM. Once you have it able to see the satellite it will be able to download current firmware and then you can set it correctly if you want - but it won't make any difference unless you have more than 8 tuners and a reverse band LNB.

Another way -Using the remote - Menu Setting restart the receiver - When the front of the receiver goes dark-at the fist sign of a blue light (starting reboot) Using the remote -Press numbers - 0-2-4-6-8 --repeat until you see searching for new software

You have to have it correctly configured for the dish first for that to work. If he is having trouble putting it in SWM mode it won't be able to download updated firmware.

Are you certain you have a swm lnb? What's the model number of it?

yep, I had 2 hr22 working perfect until having to replace one of them. After receiving the HR24 the existing hr22 continues to work perfect with me having difficulties trying to get the HR24 to work as it should. not being able to set it up with the SWM dish is creating the problem. Thanks
