no....i have a lot of rain fade so i want the swm16 connected properly. that problem is independant from the mrv issue. I wasnt sure if they were related.

Based on my setup, should i put the amp between the swm16s like u suggested or do like the white paper where the amp goes before the swm16s?

    Thanks

The distance/loss to the first SWiM-16 shouldn't be a problem.
If you're having rainfade issues with the receivers connected to the second SWiM, then you can either use the amp between them [which was done with someone else with this problem] or you can go with the splitters and feed both SWiM-16s with the same levels. DirecTV does support the splitter configuration and doesn't use the amp.

From what you posted earlier, the only place to make a change to improve rainfade would be if only the receivers connected to the second cascaded SWiM were having the problem, and not those on the first SWiM-16.

huh, thats odd. In the residential area of the specs it says to put the amp closet to the dish, nothing mentioned of a certain dist from dish.

In the MDU diagrams it notes that the amp should be at least 50' from the dish.

While that might work in residential, the building i looked at there is no way to mount the amp anywhere between 20 to 150' from the dish after everything is covered up by sheetrock. The amp would end up at 20' or at 160'

Maybe I'm doing the math wrong, but doesn't the total number of tuners come to 16? Why are 2 SWM 16s even needed?

Not Deca, i mean cck's and yes they are located next to the swm16. I have 2 swm16s because i still have 3 more tv locations to add in the next week or so.
