I'm curious whether the firmware/library versions for the SWMLine changed from the first round of testing to the current 2nd round of testing. Please post whether you were in the first round or second round of testing, your SWMLine LNB model (WNC, Aspen Eagle, etc) and SWM firmware and library versions.

    For me:

    First Round
    WNC lnb
    SWM Firmware version: 1.0.9
    SWM Library version: 1.0.06

    Thanks

Thanks. Very interesting. So, for at least the WNC model lnb, the firmware and library versions changed a bit. I wonder what's in the changes?

Do we know if the firmware is updated through the software downloads or is it on the SWM itself? Also does the SWM signal level show the strength to the SWM LNB itself? And I assume higher is better.

Secound round (SWMline - just swapped LMB)

    SWM Firmware Version 1.0.11
    SWM Library Version 1.0.8

    Two HR20-700

I have no idea what brand LMB array I got.... how do you tell? The instructions just say "DirecTV model SL5S SWM-ODU.

Guess it's embossed or marked on the LMB but I never noticed when I installed it.

    EDIT (it's an Eagle-Aspen)

the firmware is built into the SWM by itself any upgrades to the firmware would morethan likely would need to be sent back to Directv for a firmware upgrade. so no it doesn't upgraded via sat downloads.

the signal leval on the SWM signal page in the menu is the strength between the reciever (s) and the SWM module. however during bad weather that causes you to see rain/snow fade these signals will drop as well (atleast for the SWM-5 i have i seen this) so the higher the signal reads depends on the over all signal strength that is part of the system.

As was discussed in the SWM5/SWM8 testing, the firmware is hard coded (burned) into the SWM and can not be field upgraded.

Thanks for the info. I assumed that but just wasn't 100 percent about that. All of my SWM channels show high 90's so looks like I'm good! Thanks again.

Removed and Replaced partial AT-9 with SWMLine setup. Use already installed wiring, purchased a ladder and a 4-way splitter. No issues.

My frigg'n Russound is another matter entirely though...
