Just after 4:30 PM [local] one of my HR20-700s started showing tuner #2 771.
Checked all of my other receivers and they all showed 771.
Swapped the PI to see, but no go.
Swapped the LNB with a "normal" Slimline & added in my SWM8.
Nothing on any of my receivers.
Barreled across the SWM to one location.
    Still nothing.
Moved my H21-200 to this location.
Instead of searching for SAT it was stuck on 0% guide data.
Swapped another Slimline LNB [this time the one that came with the SWMLine].
    Nothing.
    Back to the HR20-700 and "found" a 40% off the 119 #12.
So far everything else has been zero and when on a SWM they were all zeros also.
H21-200 show tuner failure in system test [good grief] with good LNB test.
Moved everything out to the dish with a short "test" coax.
Fell off the ladder [ouch] well the ladder tipped over with me on it.
Dish was rock solid and hadn't moved.
Tried both non SWM LNBs and several "off the shelf" older HD receivers.
    Nothing.
    Pulled out my old AT-9
The HR20 booted and found the SATs.
The H21-200 was still at 0% guide data.
Brought everything back in and connect off my AT-9 & SWM8 and it all works [now].

    I wouldn't wish this on a dog:
    One SWMLine LNB failure,
Two "back up" Slimline LNBs dead out of the box.
One H21-200 that only works off a SWM system.

As Garfield would say "You know it's Monday when...."

So with Earl gone, who you going to call? [ghost busters].

Time now 9:24 PM [Five hours of ...... later].

    Wow...What are the odds...:eek2:

I think the weirdest part the H21-200 only working off a SWM configuration.

I wonder if it some how has to be told to do something different. Although, you would think it would be automatic.

Bummer man...I'm sure someone at DirecTV will want to look ath the LNBs to check them out to see what failed. Try Stuart first, then Doug, then Tom. It is Tuesday, perhaps things will go better today. :)

Yikes, falling off the ladder. Ouch. Hope you aren't sore today.

So many different combinations of SWMline, and SWM + LNB didn't work that it seems like it has to be something else.

If it was anyone else without your experience we'd be suspect wouldn't we?

If you have a number of SWM-LNB's, as my dish is pretty reachable, I'd be happy to swap one of yours with mine to see if its really DOA.

    Please keep us informed.

    Thanks all.
    Tom has already PM'd me.
"I'm OK", but the darn ladder [5' light weight aluminum] came down on the inside of my knee. For those that remember "Gunsmoke", they'll be calling me "Chester" for a while.
I'm kind of  about it and "my weight" must have still been on the ladder for it to have done what it did, with one leg on the outside of it as I hit the ground [and pile drove the ladder into the inside of my knee].

Anyway, nothing major, just a bruise, and a "pile" on dead LNBs.

Yeah, that had me going for a while too. I was beginning to wonder if a receiver was taking out the LNBs.
I mean, three in a row?
    What are the odds?
After the "dust settled", one failed in service and two were DOA out of the box.

While I find it entertaining to be sure, the main thing is you're ok.

What kind of ladder was it?

[5' light weight aluminum] Free standing [aka four legs]. I doubt it weighs 10 pounds, so it had to be "my weight" that caused it. There isn't any part of me that hurts from hitting the ground, but where the ladder hit me.....ouch. I had to still have most of my weight still on the ladder.

AT-9 + SWM8, and I'm OK, but I missed the first half hour of Bones. :(
Maybe I should start a thread like those about AI or DwS...
