I've tailgated for several years with this setup and it has worked well. It is very easy to align the dish to the 101 satellite to get sports programming in standard definition.

Yesterday and today I've tried a couple dry runs (tests) with this setup to prepare for football season and make sure that it works. I could not lock on to the 101 satellite, no signal at all. Did it at two locations, same results. Did the SD channels on 101 get removed ?

Has AT&T changed anything that prevents taking a H24 that works with a SL3 dish and SWM 3LNB from a home and attempting to use it with an 18" oval with a single LNB ? (I know to change the settings for the dish & LNB types)

    Thanks

Nothing has changed on 101, maybe that dish was damaged since last fall or the LNB has failed?

Note that Directv has begun removing SD locals in a few markets, if yours is affected you won't be able to pick up the broadcast networks.

If your old SD dish is no longer working, maybe this is the time to upgrade your tailgating setup to a Slimline.

    Does the 101 work with a SL3/SWM?

    You need a power inserter.

There probably isn't a 101 only option for SWM, but you could tell the receiver it is an SL3. It'll just have Xs on 99/103 you'll have to 'continue' past.
