He doesn't live that far from Baltimore. Lots of tats shops there.
You go to the guy/girl who did the art you consider "spectacular". Just because he's wearing them doesn't mean he did them, odds are he didn't.
Artists are more than happy to show off their work. Go in, view their portfolio, and develop a repore long before you let them put a needle on your skin.
Go to this web site. http://failblog.cheezburger.com/ugliesttattoos They show bad and once in a while great tats.
Thanks, kinda proves my point. There's another Photoshopped "tat" very similar to the first one I questioned.
Ask the guy with the best tats who did them ... and see if he can give examples of his work.
Just because there are only two artists in town does not mean one uses the other for all of their tats.
Consider too the subject matter of the tat you're looking to get. Just because the guy does total abomination depictions of people, doesn't mean he's not a fantastic graphic artist.
Looks like nobody else understood, but it's the same as two barbers in town: One with a great haircut and the other with a bad haircut. Obviously you go to the Barber with the bad haircut, because the other barber probably cut it.
That is the old joke answer ... but I understood the reality of the issue. One should find out where they got their hair cut and see if you can see samples of work. The well kept barber could be getting his hair cut by someone who doesn't work publicly (perhaps his wife or father). It ruins the joke, but the reality is that the universe has more than two people who can cut hair ... making assumptions about who did the work without verifying the assumption is not wise.
I bet you're a riot at parties.
The point of the haircut story is "don't judge a book by its cover" ... and that advice would apply to judging the artist by the tats they wear. Perhaps not a funny joke ... but I'm not the one telling it.
Ask the person who has the good tats where they got them.
Or just walk the other direction because the dude with the dreads and the icp tee looks like he's going to rob you
Ding ding ding! Give the man a kewpie doll.
