Yes, good catch ! MBC Every 1 (Korean) is also being dropped on March 30th, Ch. 2085.

And another one: Jiangsu TV (Chinese) on Ch. 2054 is also being dropped, this one on March 26th.

These Guide banner notices showed up on my Guide this morning.

Ah so its more than just MBC Drama I didn't see these where I don't have the 95 dish. I only see the international HD channels in my guide.

I am in Monterey Park, CA 91754 in the Los Angeles market and just noticed channel 30 ION is now HD it previously was SD. Also two sub channels for KTLA 5 showed up in the guide but not able to tune in to them yet causes the C61K-700 to freeze. 5.3 and 5.4 are the newly added channels.

LA got their local Ion in HD back in December

You also need to rerun antenna setup. KTLA, KDOC and some others changed their RF number last Tuesday as part of the repack, so until you rerun the setup, your AM21 will attempt to tune to the old numbers. And if you haven't rerun OTA setup in over a year, you probably never noticed the expansion that first came to the OTA database for LA last May.

    I don't have an AM21. I have HS17-500 and C61K-700. In my guide under 5 KTLA there is now 5-3 & 5-4 but can't tune into them.

I've seen a couple other people report seeing subchannels added to the guide when they don't have an AM21 or LCC. Perhaps a mistake when they have been adding/correcting OTA subchannels for those who do, or some bug in the software that is showing OTA channels for those who lack OTA capability. Those bogus channels should go away eventually when they realize/fix it.

I also do not have an AM21 and see the 5-3 and 5-4 for KTLA. If you try and tune to the channel it says it does not see a LCC connected. Just go ahead and release the LCC already.

They should mirror it to 70-2 and 240-1 to put it next to the other shopping channels.

I was awake at 6am this morning. I watched 310 change from Crave to HSN2. Probably would have been more interesting if it was not a shopping channel to shopping channel change. Happened at 6:02 am ET. Crave is still on in the lower 90's if you really want to watch it.

I am not one who can say. I am not an insider. I did post the following, on February 10, 2019, in the thread “DirecTV HD Channel Anticipation (Official 2019 Thread)”:

Don't know about that, but oriolesmagic just posted over at avsforum that Daystar (national feed) is now in HD on U-verse...so who knows...

The AT&T side of things has generally been friendlier to religious channels that would be considered P/I on DirecTV. While we might think that things would move in harmony with these 2 now, we still see that Hallmark Drama has never launched on U-Verse, and it still seems as if they have Stingray Music, by my observation.

The only place where Hillsong was in HD outside of local arrangements was with Spectrum. Everyone outside of Spectrum that has Hillsong in HD does so because of an agreement on the OTA side with a local TBN transponder. So it's within the realm of possibility that DirecTV could add it, but it may not be all that likely. For the most part, most cable companies don't carry religious channels in HD unless there's local agreements. There's a handful of places with Daystar, SonLife and TBN in HD from a local station, but only EWTN tends to get more prominent HD coverage. Comcast had a national TBN HD feed for a while in the Baltimore and Pittsburgh areas, then dropped it. Even providers like Cox who have made adding everything in HD a priority didn't get TBN HD outside of some areas where they have localized feeds (like Oklahoma City).

If someone has U-Verse or knows someone who does, can someone tell me what Cheddar and QVC3 look like on that service? They have channel numbers in the 1000s, but don't appear to be listed as HD. We all know what DirecTV is on 354, some of these could be clues to future additions for DirecTV if they have arrived on U-Verse.

I would say as of right now, the most likely HD additions are some or all of the missing Viacom channels. If Sportsman Channel HD was coming, it would've done so already with Outdoor Channel HD. I think the same for UP HD when Aspire HD was launched (these are sister networks). If I were a betting man, I'd say some combination of BET Her HD, Logo HD, Nicktoons HD and Teen Nick HD would be the next likely launches before ACC Network HD on August 22nd.

A lot of those religious channels are carried as P/I obligation channels, so the terms of their DirecTV carriage have no bearing on U-Verse carriage and vice/versa. Hillsong, Daystar and EWTN are carried as P/I channels, while TBN isn't. Check my post in the HD Anticipation thread for the full list of P/I channels, along with further explanation from both myself and James of what that means.

U-Verse's carriage of religious channels is either pay to play or because they're a big enough long established name to get carried (i.e. EWTN, Daystar, TBN, etc)

TBN has their cable carriage via mix of must carry claims of local affiliates and carriage of their national feed in other areas. Cable carriage of Hillsong, Enlace, Salsa, Smile and JCTV are strictly optional as a result of choosing must carry, so they can only force carriage of their main TBN channel. Some cable companies who like to pick up as many as possible opt to pick up their subchannels for free, while others like Altice/Optimum only carry subchannels included as part of retrans deals with the local station's owner and skip subchannels from stations that opt for must carry like TBN, Ion and many independents.

TBN is also reorginzing their OTA channels, Smile and JCTV are now carried part time and share a channel, and in markets where TBN has the signal to themselves they're upgrading Hillsong to HD, while in markets like Philly where TBN entered a spectrum sharing deal, they dropped Smile/JCTV entirely and Hillsong remains SD only. In NYC, they purchased the Class A station WDVB they were spectrum sharing with and "moved" Hillsong and Smile/JCTV to that station. Although since WDVB has a weaker signal based in New Jersey with a null toward Long Island to protect WFTY, Altice/Optimum, who's headend is in Hicksville, had to drop the local WTBY feed and replace it with the national TBN feed. Post-repack WDVB is moving to a different RF number and will have a stronger signal that no longer needs a null to protect WFTY, and Optimum will pick up WTBY again.

SBN mainly operates as a pay to play channel. They don't own most of their affiliates and are paying to be carried on the primary feed of those stations, which opt for must carry status giving them cable and satellite carriage in multiple major markets. Their national channel on 344 is also paying to be carried.
