Hmm, maybe this is why the French have been such ninnies.

    France, of course, denies.

Okay, first, I am skeptical; not becuase I doubt that France was illegally selling arms to Iraq, but that they would in 2003.

But, it does put to question the real motives behind France's incessent anti war stance.

    My favorite part.
"Anglo American". Yeah, whatever. And people accuse the US of being too full of themselves.

German, Russian, and French weapons sales to Iraq as well as oil purchases, were well known well before the war. This isn't new or news, but merely adds to the gigantic pile of evidence that the terrible trio opposed the war and the freedom of all Iraqis based on nothing more than selfish interests. Not too surprising from any of them either. As Tom Lehrer put it regarding Germany, "we taught them a lesson in 1918, and they've hardly bothered us since then." France folds before a war can really start and can't be bothered to fight for their own skins never mind anyone else's. And Russia is still tinkering with trying to make Communism work with democracy with astoundingly bad results. For crying out loud, they don't seem to know or care where half their nukes are.

Typically, the American press will largely ignore it and keep inventing dark conspiracies based on throw-away sentences in semi-important speeches while America's interests and those of freedom are sacrificed on the pyre of socialist vanity.

This is the only part of the satement I don't understand. It was the Brittish and the US that rightfully went forward with the action. The rest followed later. So Anglo-American would have been the corect term. It wasn't an Oh-oh, Franco-American action. :)
