Well, so far I have no firm information. All I can say is that it's going to be an interesting few weeks!

Considering the guide lists the last National Geographic sneak peak as airing on Sept. 4 @ 4am, I'd tend to believe that we're not going to see anything until after the 4th. Could happen on the 4th, but I'd bet after. Plus, you'll start getting signals on the 103(b) sat test before the channels go live as they just test the signal in the SAT's final position.

I'd also love to be wrong and have them light up in the morning.

All I can say is that it would be nice if they do light up at 6am but my butt is going to be sleeping that early. :)

If and thats a big *IF*....D* were smart I would relase the new HD channels as msoon as possible..like in about 6 hours eastern time...

WHY you ask?? 1st its Labor Day weekend .....D* figures that its a long weekend so why not give there customers the HD channels now!

2nd D* needs to know what kind of problems if any will arise BEFORE the start of the NFL Sunday Ticket games that way all kinks can be worked out before next Sunday...September 9th...

Thats atleast what I was told!!!!!

"As soon as possible" is definitely not within six hours. The satellite is not in a position where it can legally begin broadcasting.
None of those games will be broadcast from D10, so it doesn't matter.

Technically, there is absolutely nothing stopping D10 from broadcasting while it's moving. They moved Spaceway 1 while it was broadcasting, so there's no reason they couldn't do the same with D10. The only thing stopping them is the law. The FCC will not be pleased to see that DirecTV is broadcasting from a spot other than the one they're assigned.

Oh jeez, don't even joke about that. I would be so angry if DirecTV added the Voom channels. Complete waste of bandwidth.

And why do you say that? Have you ever watched any of the VOOM channels?
