I can't believe an HD version of the Style Channel exists. :)

[On a side note, I was looking at an AT&T Uverse brochure (LA, CA) my brother brought home for me, and they east and west feed of Tru TV. Just give me one feed only, and that feed being the east one. AND in HD please, Turner Networks.

Your right. What I meant to say is I only need the East feed (and I'm on the west coast, that was DVR's are for). A east AND west feed would be a waste of bandwith.

On DirecTV, but not on U-verse. That's why they can offer both.

Actually they only show 1, yes I said one, HD game per time slot. So not even close to DirecTV for sports.

That's because Verizon chose to go with iN Demand instead of just carrying all of the RSNs like DirecTV. So that's all they have available to them.

Not currently, no. The reason has to do with CV preventing them from getting it. They did that with MSG to begin with too. But because a cable company can't stop another provider from carrying their channel, the FCC forced CV's hand. With regard to MSG HD, that's CV playing games. They contend that the law just requires them to supply A feed - not that it has to be in HD. Verizon went back to the FCC, and the decision is currently pending.

I wonder why we haven't heard more squawking about lack of HD feeds for the west coast? In fact, I wonder if it's ever an issue with west coasters who got west-only feeds through cable having to get used to east-coast only (well, mostly) through D*? I've always wondered how that worked.

I don't think it's that big of a deal (and I'm guessing for folks with DVRs it doesn't matter at all). A lot of times it helps (like with BSG which comes on at 7pm for me), and when I switched from cable last year, I can't really remember missing any shows or caring much about the time difference. Plus several channels repeat new episodes of shows anyway (like BSG gets replayed at 9pm I think), so it seems like perhaps some stations cater to us. Or not. :p

I think the main reason you don't hear people complaining is because cable sucks so horribly that we don't mind a few earlier shows. I have my issues with D*, but Charter's HD lineup was just awful.

I don't care what the feed, I just want it in HD. Hell, they can take the west feed of HBO and give me another one of the HBOs in HD instead.

Dual feeds of everything would eat up tons of precious bandwidth. DVRs handle time-shifting very nicely.

Somebody indicated that we could/should expect to see some new HD at or around the time of the upcoming rate increase. I think that's a reasonable prediction.

Most folks (that I know, anyway) don't have a DVR. Heck, I've been with D* since 98 and I just got one a few months ago!

As a west coaster I actually like it. Having cable channels like Food, Discovery, etc on east coast time helps avoid recording conflicts =) With a dvr it doesn't matter too much when they actually air either.
