Right now it isn't even close. The current war isn't one in which the enemy can do more than create isolated atrocities.

WW II potentially could have resulted in the US being invaded and conquered as most of Europe was. For two years after Pearl Harbor the ultimate outcome was not a sure thing.

The key words are "Right now". I wonder what history 50 years from now will have to say on this one.

Excuse the brevity, but the thought of Yasir Arafat in a blond wig makes me ill. :ewww:

Europeans have had to live and cope with terrorism for 50 years or more. If it isn't a group of Middle East fanatics, its the IRA, South Mollucans, Red Brigade, Basque separatists, the Bader-Meinhoff Gang, Algerian "freedom fighters", Croatians, etc.

Up until now, we have led a pretty sheltered existence compared to the rest of the world. We can prevail just as well or better than any of these European countries.

Actually Don't forget the Assassination or Arch Duke Ferdinand which lead to World War I. History channel had a show called "100 Years of Terrorism" I think Europe has had terrorism the entire 20th century, when not engaged in World Wars :(

Happy Memorial day to you brmann, you horses behind.

    and my response is

I'm busted Bogy. You're right, But in my defense let me point out that when I returned to the physical earth this time I was only given the choice of returning as a horses behind, or as a preacher. To me that was a "no brainer".

Have a great memorial day Bogy, and I sincerely mean that.
