Outside of a little bit of content of their own on the Audience channel, and some AT&T exclusive concerts in 4K in the past, the content is provided by others. Watching Giada in 4K is not bad once in a while. :)

So you’re saying that you are ‘subscribed’ to 105 and can normally view content there, but the specific Women’s World Cup isn’t included? We ran into this issue this morning, so if I understand correctly, none of use can view Women’s World Cup on 105?

Edit: Now I understand, we can’t see it because it’s available on Fox and would infringe on their broadcast.

It appears you can’t if it is being broadcast on your local fox. Which it is right now. When the feed is from FS1 you can also view on 105. The 4K broadcasts have always behaved like this. I have had the same issue here in Western PA when the penguins and pirates were being picked up in 4K

We lost our local FOX affiliate awhile back due to a dispute but currently I am getting 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup on channel 105 Live4K.

Except for the content created and distributed by HBO and the Time Warner channels. And the Audience Network. And the AT&T Sportsnet channels. Vertical integration has changed the marketplace.

The 4K content on 104 isn't being produced by AT&T|DIRECTV. They are just buying what is available. There isn't a lot available that is not owned by others (such as the occasional 4K sports programming carried on DIRECTV) or at the same level or worse than the "sample 4K" that keeps channel 104 warm.

I was going to ask him if he did not realize that ATT owns a bunch of content providers. If they have any hope of ever making 4K a must have package they are going to need to farm out some good 4K productions

4K is included though. Not a must have package

The content produced for HBO and the Time Warner channels have outlets. The intent of channel 104 is to be a sample of what a 4K picture looks like - not the most compelling programming available.

Well I would hope that they are aiming to have enough content to one day soon have a 4K package. I watched a video the other night on how Netflix pushed ARRI into making a proper 4K production camera so that their original content will have that ARRI look and be in true 4K, not upscaled like most productions.

And a persons interest in seeing 4K samples is pretty short. Not to mention the fact that YouTube has better 4K samples if you have a descent internet connection.
If Directv wants this to succeed they really have to have compelling 4K content. The mini series Chernobyl could have been mastered in 4K and distributed on HBO and 104 simultaneously. That would have shown the subscribers why 4K on DTV is not just eye candy but a future they want to be part of.

How would they make something like that and show it on 104 so only people that have HBO could watch it? Not everyone that has 4K has HBO.
