I put up with the blacking out of Tigers Weekly even though it's still asinine. If the Tigers pre and post game shows will now be blacked out (I've never seen Tigers Live blacked out until yesterday) per MLB or FSD I will be canceling sports pack. :nono2:

I know at my 2nd home with Bright house (my primary home has D*) one of the "sports Pack" channels is FS-Detroit ...I wonder if selling them to cable companies has caused D* to not be allowed to pass through the pre post shows to us (BTW the Pre/post shows are on Bright house just not the games themselves ...they switch to other FS channels with material playing that dont have to blackout)

My fios has YES and SNY out of market. Same thing.

To me, the pre-game and post-game shows are what make the Extra Innings package even better and adds value to the package. Without them, regardless of what team or game I want to watch, I would expect these to be with it. If not, I will be looking to cancel the package one way or another.

You'll cancel EI, which it's too late to do, since you can't see pre & post game shows? So, the game isn't as important as a couple has-beens or never-was talking about it?

We all have different tastes in our sports viewing, but I prefer the games over talking. Analysts yammer on enough during the game; I don't need to hear them before & after, too.

Well, you do get interviews and pieces on players and highlights.

Could be a coincidence but checking all of the out of market pregames right now, all the ones called <something> Live are blacked out and those called <something> pregame are on. There is one just called Pregame that is blacked out.

The next interesting interview with an athlete will be the first. I only care about the game itself; pre- and post-game holds zero interest for me. I record all my sports so I can zip thru all that stuff, including the intermission reports. But for those of you that want it, I hope they fix it so you can get it. Different strokes, as it were.

Really? You don't want to know the extent of Joe Hockey Players injury or what player may be coming up from the minors? Or highlights of plays you missed?

I am not a huge fan of the pregame shows but you are pretty much missing a lot if you don't have a clue why someone did something or what happened after or before.

Nah. Don't think I've ever watched a pre-game or post-game show in my life. Heck, I don't even watch the 8 hours of coverage before the Super Bowl.

I can find out most of the information you listed on SportsCenter later on without all the fluff.

BrettFavreTimTebowJimmerFredetteCenter shows the information without the fluff?

As to the reasoning why all of a sudden after 15 years of subscribing to MLB Extra Innings I (we) are no longer able to view these pre and post game programs?

Talk about putting a bad taste in this baseball fan. You did it once already in 1994 to this Montreal Expos fan. This time you may have lost a customer forever.

We here in Lee County, FL are the home to two spring training sites, the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins. This area has supported these two teams for nearly 20 years and has established a large fan base that continues to followed both teams during their regular season.

I like many others here in SW Florida don't have the time to receive information from other sources. I appreciated the fact that I could receive up to date information in regards to these pre-game shows and reviews and analysis of the game(s) in post game shows. For me they are very important and I believe should be a part of the Extra Innings package.

I am going to wait and see for the next couple of weeks if MLB has the decency to make any type of announcement to clarify the situation. I really don't expect that to happen, so in that case I will look at other entertainment alternatives to spend my money at.

Every business, including MLB should strive to market their product so that if you have customers who are interested in "the product....Major League Baseball"........ they MLB would do anything possible to make the product available and much more desirable. Not making available/denying the access of any information pertaining to your product does not benefit anyone. MLB nor the fans. In the end, everyone loses out.

You a new baseball fan? ;)

Well, I had started another post for this, but I guess this one is getting more activity than mine.

I've contacted both DirecTV and FSArizona on this very matter, and both say to contact the other party. Neither has an explanation.

The closest I've gotten was FSArizona saying that there is a new MLB Mandate to blackout Pre-Post content to those without the Sports Pack. I have MLB EI and Premier, so by that remark, I should be getting the shows. They also asked what other team's pre-post I was able to receive, I went through the available games, and just about all of them were open at the time. They never replied to that comment.

I got the same thing from DirecTV as another poster said. Blackouts belong to the rights holder, and the rights holder says blackout. But whatever, MLB's facist business model will have them slip even further down the pole until they hit rock bottom. They already were passed by the NFL, and I'm sure the NBA and maybe even the NHL (who is on an upswing) could be next.

As much as I would like to see those pre and post game shows. As much as I think the blackouts are stupid and will alienate a few of the diehards. I do not believe this practice is going to piss off fans from coast to coast and cause a backlash against MLB.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I thought you guys might like what I got from FSN Detroit this evening:

We received word this afternoon that MLB will allow us to once again distribute Tigers pregame and postgame shows to out-of-market viewers. You should start seeing those shows again soon on FOX Sports Detroit via DirecTV Sports Pack.

FSD Viewer Info.

Theres nothing to be sorry about, there are concerns about further justifying the Sports Pack subscription since these complaints began, especially from those of us that is more into baseball. I've been having quite a few problems with some RSNs blacking out their pre and postgame shows, hopefully the others recieved the same message FS Detroit did from MLB.

Hopefully this good news materializes.
