I would like to know what paper guide you like most.
None I just use the DirecTv's channel guide.
I've used TV Guide, DirecTV's Access and Satellite Direct. I liked Satellite Direct the best but in the end I just could never justify the cost when the online guide is what I use 99% of the time and is always more up to date.
I agree with BScott i`ve used tvguide,Directv access,Satelitte Direct. i used the online guide all time.
Haven't used a paper guide in more than 3 years, or whenever it was that TV GUIDE turned into People Magazine.
Which one do you use?
I use the DirecTV EPG. I did notice that my Samsung's OTA TV Guide has no data since the transition. Our local paper has started to charge for their weekly guide.
I do not know of this "paper guide"
Seriously though I subscribed to Access DirecTV for 6 months and canceled it. Waste of money when the EPG is free. half of it was boring celebrity interviews and ads for NFLST and other sports packages and PPV
Paper guide? Uhhhhh...
What is this "paper" stuff of which you speak?
My paper guide consists of the LA Times,OC Register and sometimes TV Guide.Since retirement I go alot more and use the DVR more and more...It just seems easier for me to open a guide and see what's on that day..Since reading the replies,I started playing with ch.guide, it just takes so long to check out all of the movies ch's...Thanks for the comments, gotta book my trip to Vancouver for the hockey Tourney in Dec. Now, how far in advance does this ch. guide go...?
Is TV Guide On screen (OTA) working for anyone?
I remember when I first signed up for D*, it was either them or USSB that gave us a free subscription to TV Guide. After finishing the crossword puzzle, it went right into the trash. Even back then with the "short" guide, we didn't need it.
No paper here.
Mostly the DirecTV guide on the receiver.
Also there's Xap2It, http://www.zap2it.com/
And Titan TV, http://www.titantv.com/
The TV Guide channel (237) is now anything but.
I use the Atlanta Journal & Constipation and the DIRECTV Guide that comes on my screen when I push the GUIDE BUTTON!!!
I use the paper because it tells me about Sports (College Football Games) in an instance when sometimes the New Search Menu doesn't work properly. I can see all of the Football Games, when they are playing and what time they are playing rather than having to do multiple searches with the New Search Menu which may or may not work!!!
You need to learn how to do searches for what you want. Let the DVR do the work for you.
For new network shows, I use
AALL PREMIERE CCHAN 2 60
For new HD stuff:
AALL PREMIERE HDTV
For new premium movies:
AALL PREMIERE HDTV CCHAN 500 600 & Movies
For HD movies not PPV:
HDTV NNOT PPV & Movies
I use others for live baseball, hockey, football, basketball.
(On paper, I get TV Guide dirt cheap...and I mean dirt cheap...so I read it not for listings but for TV news.)
Yes its still working here, and I use it for 2 HD-DVRs. Most CBS or PBS stations broadcast it.
I use both TV guide and D* guide also.
