El Rey was the 88th most popular cable network in 2019 - 95th most popular in prime time. Not too bad, but at the bottom of the Univision lineup. Other channels that low in popularity are either 1) not carried by DISH, 2) pay DISH to be carried or 3) are part of larger channel packages (ESPN/Fox Sports).

With the guaranteed carriage on Comcast (mentioned by KyL416 above) I don't see it disappearing completely. But it is definitely a channel at the low end of the lineup.

So far, no one called me back from Sinclair, and 51 & 16 were not restored. With the main net back, maybe Sinclair feels it is not worth adding the Univision locals back. Daystar did that years ago.

it's also possible that Univision could wind up selling El Rey if they opt not to shut it down.

Sinclair was planning on selling those two stations before the Tribune deal fell through. It seems to be an odd situation ... if they were carried as part of a national deal with Univision that expired last June why would they not be part of the renewal deal that brought back the national channels and the rest of the locals? Did Sinclair drop Univision as their agent for those stations and then fail to get a separate carriage deal? Are there other stations dropped last June that didn't come back?

    Colorado...
I now get KVSN on channel 48. I looked on google and wikipedia, KVSN is an Univision affiliate from Pueblo, Colorado (45 miles south of me) Not sure if this is treated as a local channel.
Looks like DISH has Univision back.

Glad to see they are back. I have several Latino friends.
