WIth the combination of US and Venezuelan law I don't see that AT&T has a choice. The US sanctions forbid transmitting the channels the Venezuelan government requires. The people arrested can't get the channels turned back on.

Seizing assets ... a little hard to seize an international satellite. Isn't the uplink in California?

Agreed, not only that, the owner of the satellites @ 95W (IS30 & IS31) are Intelsat and their TT&C are: Castle Rock Denver, CO; Fillmore Los Angeles CA; Mountainside Washington DC; Napa San Francisco CA; Paumalu Oahu HI; Riverside Los Angeles CA, DirecTV leases.....

Also the seizing assets are no good, the VBC (Venezuela Broadcast Center) was redundancy, there are 4 more ABC (Argentina), BBC (Brazil), CoBC (Colombia), CBC (Long Beach California, USA) being the main Broadcast they can do nothing they're out of the network, they have no access.

    Correct ...

The seizing of assets and arrest of the three former DIRECTV executives is purely symbolic done for government propaganda purposes.

Which is to be expected from any such dictatorship as Venezuela is. ...
