VS thinks that it is irreplaceable and for some customers it might be. The major thing is most people will knee jerk at the beginning and just leave. This works against VS as once the damage is done there's even less reasons, subscribers who want it, to get the channel back. This is why Dish took so long to get theirs back. The damage was done so why agree to something you don't have to as quickly. Neither company really wants this but both think they're justified and Comcast has the oppertunity to gain more by keeping DirecTV from passing them in subscribers.
