If you live in Central Indiana and don't have any serious health issues, and you want to see the Indy 500 live, there's NO good excuse not to be there in person!

As for IndyCar, as upset as I am about the direction of the series in the last 2-3 years, I'll be happy to get Versus back. But I won't pay $13 a month for it.

With the influx of road and street races I won't miss the IRL too much.

I am undecided on if I would pay for the sports pack if it ends up there.

Tonight however I found a decent stream of it on the internet. Almost OTA SD Quality. No, I'm not telling you where.

I'd rather be watching it in HD!

I can tell you this I will NOT pay for Verus on sports pack. The only package I might upgrade too will be Total Choice to Choice Extra.

I believe it falls under their premium channel policy of needing to keep it 30 days, or pay a fee of $10 if you cancel it earlier than that. I'll be keeping it about 45 days, if necessary.

Guessing I'll miss some Red Wings games against San Jose in the first round if they don't get Versus back, or if they do but stick it in a sports tier. I'll be bummed too. But it's not like I'm gonna switch providers, or pay for a sports tier. Blame the NHL more than anyone though. What crap TV coverage they have. I enjoy the NHL playoffs, but if their gonna make it difficult to catch 'em, screw it.

I just added VersusHD on TW cable for $25 per month. I missed the fight saturday night but will catch replay wed. along with tons of pro hockey, indy racing league and bull riding twice a week. And Team Radio Shack. All in high def. Complaints to directv paid for all this so take your time fools! They fight, we bleed. As much as I like versus I have seen the charts that show cost per subscriber and more importantly cost per viewer nationwide. ESPNHD was by far the highest in both and versus was fairly high per viewer amongst all channels. Directv had a reasonable incentive to bargain for a better price based on these numbers but shutting that channel down over a few pennies per subscriber seems a little harsh and is what makes us bleed. And now pay $13 more whoopee! Hopefully I can drop cable tv after 1 month and we can get back the only old missing channel and I can quit complaining to D*.

My "Plan B" is to temporarily relocate my SlingBox to my parent's or friend's house during the playoffs.

Cheaper than picking up cable. I looked a FiOS TV a while ago since I already have them for Internet. Their DVRs were unacceptable to me and their NHLCI comes from inDemand. inDemand didn't appear to offer anywhere near the amount of HD that DirecTV can provide for NHLCI.

Are you saying it cost $25 to ADD Versus HD, to your TWC account?

Sure, you could always get E*. ;)

Seriously, thats one thing I miss about C-Band satellite. Although I don't know if Vs. would be available with CB nowadays. And the expense.

comcast is trying to vacume as much money as possible but finally the FCC came through in a big way for people who live in philadelphia market

as far as versus goes, after next season nbc and versus contract is up NHL GOING BACK TO ESPN AND ABC, POSSIBLY FOX AGAIN THEIR TRYING TO GET IT BACK. BUT LOCK OUT MIGHT TAKE PLACE AFTER NEXT SEASON GARY BETTMAN SHOULD BE SHOT OR HIS HEAD SHOULD BE USED AS A HOCKEY PUCK.

MY NEXT POST IS LONG SORRY BUT IT WILL HAVE DETAILS ON CSN PHILLY BEING ON DIRECTV, I APOLOGIZE THIS NOTE WILL BE IN A FEW ROOMS IN THIS FORUMS BUT ITS BIG

naw like 99.9 % of the other cable channels you couldnt get VS on Cband. It got to where the channels went to a digital format that didnt have a consumer decoder/box so as a result hardly anything over time was avail via cband as all the channels migrated to digital. Thats one of the main reasons cband is now about total history today

Thats great, but we know already, and theres several months of lititgation ahead and then if they lose, a long carriage dispute to get through, imo.

Supposedly you can Versus on CBand. Not HD, this basic package is pretty bad in terms of channel lineup, but you can get it.:
