I don't use VOD or TV Apps much. The last time I used VOD was to watch Haywire and I'm not even sure it came via VOD or PPV. So the wife wants to watch a movie that is only available on VOD. She sets it to record and four days later it still in download pending mode. Obviously something is wrong so I start running checks on both my DVRs. I have the the whole house thing setup and it works fine.

I run a couple of checks under Network and look through the system information. Every test on both DVRs says they are connected to the internet. But next to STB it says error 301.

I call Tech Support and the lady reading from the script and after having me check a few things says there is nothing wrong with the DirecTv equipment and I need to setup my router to work with the DirecTv equipment. Specifically allow access to UDP1701.

I have had the same router for over a year and had no problem with VOD until recently. The only thing I may have done was to do a reset on my router so it would recognize an attached USB drive.

    Any suggestions?

Try restoring network defaults on your receiver if that doesn't work reboot the receiver and the router.

    This is a router issue

your router doesnt support VPN propeerly

Please bridge your dsl modem and use a quality router.

If your on cable internet and have a seprate router , get a better router.

While it may be a router issue, he said VOD worked fine for a year with the same router. So something has changed in his environment.

VOD and tv aps work differantly

TV apps require VPN, VOD does not.

I wonder what Earl has to say about this.
He has said they use part of the network services code in the receivers, and I need to see the 202 error for them to have TVApps work here.

I may have miss understood :)

Please verify what connection method you are using cck or cckw ?

    Has your WIFI SSID changed?

    ..
Pending download for VOD means ther receiver is waiting for the program to become availible on live tv to record.

VOD that is availible ondemand with out internet (pushed titles) are recorded and apear to be ondemand only becuase the title is instantly availible without waiting.

Who is your internet provider ?

Do you use a stand alone router or a combo router /modem ?
