You are correct some of the shows on ABC are 1080p, I just wanted to make sure I was not alone in not getting all VOD in 1080p. Thank you for the reply!

The only issue I had recently with D*'s VOD was when I was binge watching Miracle Workers from TBS on Demand. Episode 4 wouldn't load at all on D* and I had to watch it via their website because the TBS TV Everywhere app had no audio for that same exact episode on all devices. I was like WTF? I was curious to see if other providers had an issue so I started a seven day free trial of fuboTV which had the episode on demand. I was shocked that on fuboTV it worked (although for some reason fuboTV had interlacing artifacts on everything I tried to watch.)

Commercial wise the same 5 commercials were on constant repeat for every episode (1-3, 5-7) but it didn't extend the episode out. Each episode was 30 minutes with D* inserting ads.

Only way to get commercial free content is to pay for it as far as I know. We do use the CBS commercial free app but only activate it once in a while and just binge what we want to see. You do have to pay for the month but we can usually see everything we want to in that month.

I had this happen again. I had set 'The Unicorn' to download all 13 available episodes on my HR-34, started watching the first episode, got to the first commercial break, and then promo after promo...switched to CBS All Access on my FireTV Cube and zipped through the entire 18-episode season. Deleted the VOD episodes unwatched.

Exactly the reason I quit VOD on DirecTV and disconnected the internet from my genie! What was I watching anyway? Waste of time.

Actually there's 2 reasons for disconnecting the internet. The other being the genie ads on pause.

So I've suspended DirecTV and was watching Sling for free with that stay at home with Sling promo. I was very surprised some live channels shows in progress, when tuned in, would allow to start from beginning and skip ads in the buffer. What? Hulu live TV won't do this unless you're recording live. Hmm; I must be subscribed to the wrong service. I may switch until sports become a thing again.

Watched an episode of ncis Los Angeles on demand via USA channel. Had one 39 second commercial at the begging and that’s it. No commercials just went right in through. Kinda nice.

I think it’s the channels that decide how much comercial s there are...
